AHC = assistant coach, or assistant to the head coach (Alexander old position)? I assume the latter.
Alexander's old position.
With Nick's adjustments, we're going to win every game by 30...

Yeah- I keep reading AHC as "Assistant Head Coach" rather than "Assistant TO the Head Coach"
Too soonAlexander's old position.

Everything you say with a fluid? I do, more than one dose too.I would take everything Nutt says with a grain of salt. But I would imagine Nick is the AHC sometime soon.

I’ve even seen it mentioned that way. Maybe we can call it A2HC.Yeah- I keep reading AHC as "Assistant Head Coach" rather than "Assistant TO the Head Coach"

Words matter. Cheaters cheat. They go into different professions but the only "profession" that is all cheaters is career criminal. Lock 'em up.Not sure what world you live in but Wall Street cheats, major college sports cheat, private and public companies cheat, politicians are all paid off by lobbyists, it’s the world we live in.
I don’t agree with it, but nobody has built a winner or made hundreds of millions of dollars without cheating.
The NCAA has made billions off the backs of these kids.
You play the game or settle for mediocrity.
Dan - apologies for my rant and I understand if you delete it. For the record I personally don’t cheat in life or teach my kids too, but it’s unfortunately how things are.
Apologies for my earlier rant. I know we all want Illinois to win.I’ll keep it on topic.
The challenge Illinois faces, and many of the the non-blue blood schools face, is that there needs to be a way to compete for top recruits.
Facilities, coaches, academics are a huge part of that. However without doing what other schools do, you’ll need to be happy hanging below the top tier.
I obviously don’t have the solution without engaging in the same behavior, but that’s just the reality of the situation, like it or not.
So much integrity. I am unworthy!Words matter. Cheaters cheat. They go into different professions but the only "profession" that is all cheaters is career criminal. Lock 'em up.
Why does this pertain to our coaching hire? Because I don't want vacated titles or so-called victories that we can't be proud of. And your blanket statement "major college sports cheat" implies I can't take satisfaction in major college sports. That is not the world we live in, though.
Ayo didn't cheat his way to the NBA draft. Or did he? According to your ridiculous position, all the students, all the coaches, and everyone in the administration are cheaters because they participate in major college sports. And it's okay, because "mediocrity" is unacceptable? That's your retionalization!?
News flash, you are NOT teaching your kids not to cheat. You're teaching your kids that being mediocre (aka average, aka normal) is a bad thing, and we should all cheat, (what you call "play the game"), to avoid it. Just. Wow.
I always think it's interesting when people make certain characteristics sound generational. As if cheating was just invented. People have been cheating all of time. The problem we have today is that we live in a performance culture rather than a character culture. People want character performed for the media, but to cheat like hell to get the wins. But character doesn't work like that. It isn't superficial, and it isn't words. It's what happens behind closed doors.

I've had enough of embarrassing coaches without the additional humiliation of cheating, too. Do we want to read about our coach crashing his motorcycle with his paid "girlfriend" on the back before we realize that maybe hiring scumbags is not the way to go? Are we proud of our university, or not?

I want a program we can all be proud of. And I 100% believe the 6-8 wins range, with an occaisonal "the stars all aligned" year, can be done with a clean program. But maybe not a natty. That's a compromise I'm happy to make.
Is there a point to this comment?I always think it's interesting when people make certain characteristics sound generational. As if cheating was just invented. People have been cheating all of time.
If that’s how you feel about integrity, then yes, you probably are.So much integrity. I am unworthy!
