Names mentioned by Rittenberg as possible replacements for Jimbo:

-Mike Elko, Duke head coach
-Jeff Traylor, UTSA head coach
-Dan Lanning, Oregon head coach
-Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss head coach
-Kalen DeBoer, Washington head coach
-Sonny Dykes, TCU head coach
-Chris Klieman, Kansas State head coach
-James Franklin, Penn State head coach
What kind of idiots do they have running the show at A&M if they think James Franklin is going to solve their offensive issues?

Two years after giving a coach a 10 year $95M extension, they fire him and pay the full contract...without a scandal. That kind of bipolar decision-making has got to frighten any potential hire. But on the bright side, you can earn ten years salary in two years by not working very hard. Let Lovie know.

People out west are not happy with Lincoln Riley. Started 11-1 and is 7-6 since. Should’ve lost to Cal also, which would be 6-7, all while wasting the talent of a great qb because of an atrocious defense.
Apart from lack of on field success (another fan base that expects the playoff every year), word is he has been alienating some of the influential boosters and fans in general, thus the rumblings that he is not a ‘cultural fit’ at sc. Plus the ad, mike bohn, that hired him is no longer at sc, and he butted heads with the new one over firing Alex grinch the defensive coordinator. Even a lot of the sc people are not happy about it being ‘a team of mercenaries’ either, which I find surprising, but I do think is a cause for the lack of effort at least on defense.

Urban Meyer has dirty baggage that might scare off MSU from even trying
Sorry if I'm misunderstanding all of this, but a quick google/wikipedia search reflects Urban Meyer went to the University of Cincinnati for undergrad and OSU for his master's. I'm not clear if the MSU that is being referenced is MI state or MS state as both have openings, but I don't see a Meyer tie to either program?

With the defense, how much is schematic/coaching vs personnel?

If scheme/coaching, with Henry being a rookie DC, is there a chance he improves with experience?

Last offseason it felt like Bret knew he was losing Kane or A. Hen, and he went wit the less experienced choice. Based on his track record of identifying coaching talent, would be out of character for Bret to make the wrong pick. But boy was the defense bad against Indiana.

We're running the same stuff as last year. Also look at Kane at Purdue.....they are worse than us statistically.
