27 pages read in 35 minutes, what a whirlwind. My take:

I have loved Brad and thank him for what he has done to get the program back to relevancy. A big part of what we all (Illinoians) like about him is his Ditka like personality. While we are intrigued by it, the tourney results require that we dig a little deeper.

Bottom line:
-his offense stinks - it’s painful watching other teams in the tournament consistently get god looks / shots running an offense. We make it look like our opponents are defensive players of the year. Sure, when someone goes off, Shannon-Meyer-Plummer (last year) we look good, other than that mediocre.
-do you think inbounding the ball from out of bounds should be so difficult and painful?
-I could go on about other coaching things to question, but to summarize, he has done nothing to show he is actually a good coach or shown he is improving as a coach. He’s pulled in some transfers and recruits to give us all the warm and fuzzies but has accomplished very little with them. Sure we were good with Ayo, but what would we have been without Kofi at his side.

That being said, if Brad is entertaining offers, move on. Disgruntled employees always have one foot in and one foot out.

If we can get a Sean Miller, I feel this is our Doug Collins to Phil Jackson opportunity! No, I’m not saying Sean is Phil, but I do think he would be an upgrade all the way around. Handling players, recruiting, coaching, and all things. I feel he would immediately attract an even higher caliber of player than Brad has. Our program would be more exciting.

If not Miller, I feel confident Josh has established himself as someone other high quality coaches would want to work for. We are in a much different place than when we hired Brad.

Brad thanks for the ride, but maybe it would be better for all to move on.

Maybe being the winningest coach in the big ten over the past 4 years after replacing his entire staff at the midpoint and rebuilding our entire team from scratch this past year then winning another 20 games?

While I don’t disagree with some of your remarks, Miller would be a great fit no matter where his next destination is but… It doesn’t get much better than BU & Co. in terms of recruiting and portal presence as of the last few years (considering the situation BU was hired into.)

This reflects my thinking as well. Very well stated.

But the new coach would have to be a home-run hire. No more experimentation with hit-or-miss lower level guys like Weber and Groce.

Neither part of that sentence is true.

JW and BU are just pros doing their jobs, and absolutely no one cares or pays attention to what gets written here, which is why we should all have fun and speak freely.

Maybe someone hires BU away, who knows, he's a good coach and life is short. We'll live. But I think it's far, far more likely he stays, and if he does we would be doing our brains a disservice to perceive the situation as a "rift" based on posts we read on a message board today.

I can't claim to know why Indy and Indy's sources are choosing to rile us up today, but that's what they're doing. We're a free focus group right now.
Completely agree here. Like you said before, someone has an agenda they want to push.

Can anyone find the exact details of the latest contract extension? Here is what I found on the buyout...

Brad Underwood receives one-year extension, raise

ByJEREMY WERNER Mar 30, 2022

Illinois said his buyout will increase as well though did not give exact details. On his previous contract, Underwood was required to pay half of his remaining guaranteed contract -- about $9.5 million -- if he left this year for a non-Big Ten team. If he left for a Big Ten opponent, he'd have to pay his full guaranteed contract, or about $19 million.
