Conference Championship Games Thread

I really think O’Connell could make an NFL roster someday. He’s doing everything to keep Purdue in this.

what is PU doing? they're down 3 scores and just called like 6 runs in a row with less than 8 minutes to go in the game

1. UGA
2. UM
3. tOSU
4. TCU

But this brings Bama into the picture, without question. IMO 1 loss in OT to a top-10 team trumps 2 loss Bama with their best win being....Ole Miss (??)

Will be interesting to see.
Purely speculation here but I believe Bama is out. They have 2 losses. The only thing about your order that I disagree with is that TCU lost in a title game so they will not move. OSU will probably be 4th and they will have to go play UGA in Georgia at the peach. Tough environment but they travel well. That's my opinion.

As the BIG championship game started tonight I almost shed tears thinking about how nice it would have been to experience the championship against Michigan. We really had a great team this year.
What do you pinpoint our losses to Michigan State and Purdue? I have my opinion but would like to hear yours.

It still remains: Illinois is the only team that held
Ichigan to one touchdown.
Looking at michigans scores and schedule, there were only 2 games where final score was within one possession.
Maryland, first game of big ten, lost by 7. Down by 15, scored in last minute.
Illinois. Last second fg.
One 2 possession game vs Iowa…where I believe Iowa scored a couple in garbage time.
Everyone else blown out by 3 possessions +

With scUM you can’t look at the final score as an indicator of their games. They have a coach who knows people only look at the score and scores when others would take a knee

Look at last night PU out gained scUM. The difference in the game is PU kicked 5 field goals. Credit scUM defense but they gave up nearly 400 yds of offense

I think UGA blows scUM out if they play

UGa will beat scUM or O$U or TCU like a snare drum in the Grambling Marching Band

Credit scUM’s athletes. Some of the plays they made especially the receivers were beyond what anyone on Purdue or Illinois’ teams are capable of. They’ve been out recruiting everyone but tOSU forever.

Difference last night was the trenches. When Michigan got close, their line just overwhelmed Purdue's and they scored a TD every time. When Purdue got close, the Michigan D-line overwhelmed Purdue's O-line and stopped them cold, hence the field goals. Plus Purdue got zero pressure all night and Michigan was all over O'Connell.

Michigan won't have that advantage against Georgia.

How did Charlie Jones fly under the radar for so long? That dude is ridiculously good.
It was said on the broadcast that he and O’Connell have been friends and played sports together since the third grade, and that, once recruited, O’Connell asked the staff to bring Jones on board as well. Purdue is glad they listened, I’m sure. Pretty good combo…

Didn’t see all the game. Few plays I saw had Michigan CB physical with WR. Didn’t get called. Announcers mentioned ‘letting them play’
Anyone else notice this?
