With the season nearing its end and Manchester City and Manchester United having clinched Champions League spots for next season, here's how the table looks for the remainder of the top 8:
3. Chelsea: 64
4. Leicester City: 63
5. West Ham United: 58
6. Liverpool: 57
7. Spurs: 56
8. Everton: 55
Here's what the remaining fixtures look like for each of the sides:
-Chelsea: vs. Arsenal, vs. Leicester City, at Aston Villa
-Leicester City: at Manchester United, at Chelsea, vs. Spurs
-West Ham United: at Brighton & Hove Albion, at West Brom, vs. Southampton
-Liverpool: at Manchester United, at West Brom, at Burnley, vs. Crystal Palace
-Spurs: vs. Wolves, vs. Aston Villa, at Leicester City
-Everton: at Aston Villa, vs. Sheffield United, vs. Wolves, at Manchester City
Based on how the table looks at the moment, Leicester has the toughest remaining stretch for those teams, giving at least a glimmer of hope to the teams behind them pursing them for a Champions League spot. West Ham probably has the easiest (with Liverpool close behind even with the make-up game against Manchester United later this week) though their loss to Everton today may end up keeping them out of top 4 contention. Everton and Liverpool both having a match in hand on the others can't be discounted at this point either for either of those sides being in contention for European football next season.
