Watford clinched promotion back to the Premier League following a 1:0 victory over Millwall today.

In addition, Brentford has clinched at least a spot in the EFL Championship playoffs with 78 points. Bournemouth (77 points), Barnsley (77 points), and Swansea City (76 points) all have basically clinched spots as well as the 7th place team in the table is currently Reading at 68 points and Reading has played the same amount of games as Swansea and has a game in hand on Bournemouth and Barnsley.

In League One, Hull City has clinched promotion back to the EFL Championship and Peterborough United has clinched a playoff spot and has all but clinched the promotion spot as well as they are at 82 points and Sunderland is at 73 with both teams having 3 matches left to play. The rest of the top 6 are Lincoln City (72 points), Oxford United, and Blackpool. Oxford United and Blackpool are tied at 68 points with Portsmouth in 7th. Oxford United and Blackpool are currently +3 in GD on Portsmouth with Blackpool having a game in hand on Portsmouth and 2 games in hand on Oxford United.

With the season nearing its end and Manchester City and Manchester United having clinched Champions League spots for next season, here's how the table looks for the remainder of the top 8:

3. Chelsea: 64
4. Leicester City: 63
5. West Ham United: 58
6. Liverpool: 57
7. Spurs: 56
8. Everton: 55

Here's what the remaining fixtures look like for each of the sides:
-Chelsea: vs. Arsenal, vs. Leicester City, at Aston Villa
-Leicester City: at Manchester United, at Chelsea, vs. Spurs
-West Ham United: at Brighton & Hove Albion, at West Brom, vs. Southampton
-Liverpool: at Manchester United, at West Brom, at Burnley, vs. Crystal Palace
-Spurs: vs. Wolves, vs. Aston Villa, at Leicester City
-Everton: at Aston Villa, vs. Sheffield United, vs. Wolves, at Manchester City

Based on how the table looks at the moment, Leicester has the toughest remaining stretch for those teams, giving at least a glimmer of hope to the teams behind them pursing them for a Champions League spot. West Ham probably has the easiest (with Liverpool close behind even with the make-up game against Manchester United later this week) though their loss to Everton today may end up keeping them out of top 4 contention. Everton and Liverpool both having a match in hand on the others can't be discounted at this point either for either of those sides being in contention for European football next season.

And we now have our 3rd and final relegated team with Fulham losing to Burnley today 0:2. Cottagers heading back down to the Championship, much like West Brom, after just one season in the Premier League.

Harry Kane has informed Spurs he wants to leave the club this summer.
Chelsea and both Manchester teams are said to be interested, but Levy is unlikely to allow him to go to another PL team. Like Modric and Bale before him, he'll likely end up in Spain (or France) if he really is set on leaving.

He would be a good replacement for CR7 if Juve were willing to take that hit. If it’s the EPL I bet he replaces Sergio at Man City

West Ham defeated West Brom, Spurs lost to Aston Villa, and Everton defeated Wolves today. West Ham just needs a point on Sunday vs. Southampton to clinch European football for next season. The 7th and final spot for European football will come down to who has the better result between Everton (at Manchester City) and Spurs (at Leicester City).

Pulling for West Ham

arsenal can still qualify with a win plus everton/tottenham loss. leicester should be motivated to win against tottenham to keep their UCL chances alive. everton faces man city which is always tough unless the citizens are just on cruise control. brighton will definitely be tough to beat; solid defence and have pulled off a few big wins late in the season: liverpool & tottenham (man city too but they were down to 10 men pretty early). with fans back in the stadiums, hopefully the home supporters will motivate their teams to wins!

I don't know that any of the teams are actually "fighting" for the 7th spot. That spot goes to the new Europa Conference League (3rd tier tournament). That just means more games to wear out a squad in a tournament that nobody really cares about.

true. although there is prize money for table position plus winning the ECL (though probably pale in comparison with TV money)

I really enjoyed the "roar of the crowd" aspect yesterday at Turf Moor and look forward to a lively time at Anfield on Sunday. LFC's comeback effort has them earning points despite not doing well at capitalizing on opportunities. We're hoping that the fans in the stands can yet again be a positive influence in a meaningful game and help the Reds end a trying season on a high note.

Brentford defeats Bournemouth 3:1 and advances to the EFL Championship Play-off Final advancing on aggregate 3:2. 2nd straight year that the Bees will be in the final at Wembley, losing 1:2 to Fulham last season. Bees will be seeking first promotion to top flight of English football since they were in what was then called the First Division back in the 1946-47 season.
