No. Looking about like he did with us. Erratic.
You never know what you will get. Can be dynamic or kill you.

Still can't shoot.

Normally I hate derivative/copycat nicknames, but when people started calling him "El Mago" it was too poignant to hate. He's the basketball Javy Baez. Whenever he attempts anything it'll either be jaw droppingly amazing or incredibly stupid and on any given play you just don't know which until you see the result. For most players you want to tone those impulses down, but every now and again you come across a player where living with the results is the better option. What he has you just can't teach, but it will drive you crazy sometimes.

Seems to be a fan favorite over there…

He has hit only one three in the last month+.

It was never part of his game, but that 3/3 game he had against Syracuse boosted his numbers.

Looks like he’s returning back to earth in that department.

Poor enough to be taken out of the starting lineup today.

I think he’s beginning to return to the lovable/super frustrating guy we saw last year that caused him to come off the bench. I thought he’d be able to become a lead guy/starter but maybe he is better reserved as an off the bench guy.

We will always have the Purdue game last year to let us know what could have been with AC. *sigh*

A little over a year ago, his name and “All American“ were mentioned in the same sentence. Wow, were the experts that far off?

So Podz still having a great year ... 18.4 p 8.4 rb 3.3 a for 13-3 Santa Clara.
Different level of competition, but the numbers are impressive no matter what. He is in good situation.

Do you have a link?

Never heard anything remotely close to that.

I remember he was on pre-season lists, here’s one showing he was third team pre-season. There may be more.

I think they all thought the erratic nature of his game would slowly disappear. And if he developed a 3pt shot he’d be unguardable.

So it was probably based on potential.

Good thing you didn’t bet your beach house. I may be old, but I do remember a few things 😊

3rd Team
Andre Curbelo, Illinois:
A special type of point guard, Curbelo reiterates on nearly every play why Brad Underwood consistently refers to him as an “alpha”. He’ll now augment that label to a different level as he takes the baton from Ayo Dosunmu in Champaign. Curbelo averaged 9.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and four assists last season as a freshman. As a sophomore, he’ll orchestrate everything for Illinois at point guard. Expect a major spike in his numbers in 21-22.

Man, my bad. I got confused with other posts about Adam Miller. Yeah, definitely remember Curbelo AA chatter.
