He could ask the same question of you. Are you a neurologist? Looked at any of Andrea's medical records? No, because none of us have. I think people are just tired of hearing about the issue on this board ad nauseum. He is no longer an illini. Wish him the best, thank him for his time here.
Fair enough. I guess I’ll just go off of him missing a ton of time and assume it was a legit injury.

Maybe the people tired of hearing about Curbelo should just follow another topic. That is literally the name of this one. There are plenty to choose from.

No one said it wasn't legit.

But count me among the people that don't believe it's the root cause of him eating popcorn on the sidelines.

If you believe that his injury has caused him to lose personal agency then he probably needs to be institutionalized.

This. 100%

If you’re gonna get on here and say his head injury is to blame for him not being able to control negative impulses or utilize his normally good natured personality, I’d like to think you’d follow it up with “He needs to stop playing basketball and get help.”

His head injury was legit at Illinois. But it isn’t the reason he’s acting the way he’s acting.

What is everyone's obsession with Podz? He had his minutes here and he never shot lights out or played exceptional defense. In the end it was his decision to leave and unless I completely missed it he was not creaned or told to leave. He is also not playing against B1G/Power 5 level of competition night in and night out. They have 1 team in that league that has done anything in the last 20 years. So to think he'd be this big scorer going against B1G defenses night in and night out is pretty naive and or just plain delusional.

Yes, but “shooters be shooters”, and we could use some help on certain occasions.

Cool. So you understand how brain injuries impact personalities? What kind of work have you done on it?

Cause here’s what medical professionals have to say about it.

Not sure how you can watch Andre jumping into Underwood’s arms at Ann Arbor and seeing how he’s acting now and not get that something happened to him.
He has a lot of off court issues prior to concussion. Some of his actions may be injury related but he had issues

This is the overwhelming take on Twitter right now too..

And also the very lazy take IMO

Podz got the minutes he deserved last year on a team with a lot of depth in front of him.. he didn't exceedingly outshine either of the other two freshman.

And if this is truly a sophomore leap and not just him banging away on lesser competition, you're crazy if you don't think he'd be getting 25-30 minutes a game on this year's team

I was bummed when he left because I thought he had long term potential, but that's all I had seen up to then

Podz was hurt as much as anyone by the decision to give everyone an extra year. There was no way he was going to get that many minutes last year when Trent and Damonte came back. It probably also didn't help that whomever was his main recruiter left before he arrived on campus.

I wish we could all agree that he would help this team in some capacity (not even saying hed start) but that there's no way he'd put up his current numbers against big ten guards.

Guys, no offense to Podz but he was given opportunities here last year and didn't do much with them. We won a B1G title without him basically, so it seems pretty clear that BU made the right move in not playing him.

We really just never got the opportunity to benefit from his unpredictable freshman to sophomore leap.

And I said this before, but those unpredictable leaps are one of the great things about following cbb. Unfortunately, with the new rules, we'll rarely get to experience that joy of watching a player go from depth piece to star.

It's podz feelings towards Trent that much different than his feelings towards Illinois as a program? I've only seen him send praise to Trent Frazier (can't blame him) and didn't he get braids to honor him (did I imagine this?)

Been following Podz at Santa Clara....kid is tearing it up. Wish he had stayed and played with the Orange and Blue, love his approach to the game and style of play....leads the team in rebounding by a large margin! Had no idea that they got Pizza Hut parking lots in San Fran:)

Well they recruited him hard out of high school so is it really a missed eval? Also if you watched him in practice last year his turn around this year would be shocking. Kid got ate alive in practice last year.

I may have worded it poorly. Meant evaluating his place on this roster.
