Can confirm CoHawk looks as bad in person as he probably does on TV. I don't get it. Defense, particularly at the rim, is killing us. Still in it.

Pick-and-choose O or D. I’d argue without Luke or Marcus in, we’d have given up 4 or 5 fewer lay-ups. But that’s the tradeoff — not a knock on either guy

This doesn't look good at all. For Illinois, the ball is consistently heading back out to 30 feet out and rarely making it inside of 10 feet. Hence the 19 3's.
On the other side, Marquette is consistently within 10 feet.
Illinois just flat out looks slower and less skilled. Good thing the lighter skinned guys on Illinois are hitting some 3's. Seems to me it's going to take 3's to win this game, as they can't get downhill and get to the basket by the looks of it. Marquette just looks to be too fast laterally on defense to allow it. On the defending side, they will have to dive a double down on Kolek when he gets within 15 feet. If he can get it out and they hit 3's, then I think you tip your cap.

Actually, this is still not enough (relative to 2s) to maximize our scoring (since we're hitting 31.6% of 3s). The real prob is our percentage on 2s: just 38.5%. We need more transition points and high-quality 2s to bring up that 2pt percentage. We're also going to have to stop them on defense.
Most upsetting thing about the last two games is I’m not sure what Harmon provides that Sencire couldn’t.
Our constant settling for threes every year boggles my mind. I’ve come to accept this just be what they are practicing, jack up 30+ threes a game and hope for the best.
Positive: we are shooting 60% from free throw line, above our season average of 51%

Few if any are as good as Harris on defense....but I am not sure he would make a difference on this guy...but who know for sure?
Yep, getting killed in the paint. It has to be a 2 to 1 edge for Marquette.
