Few notes regarding today's matches:
-First win for England over Germany in a major tournament since the 1966 World Cup Final held at the old Wembley between England and West Germany. First win for England in a non-friendly match vs. Germany since September 1, 2001 when England won at the Olympiastadion in Munich 5-1 (which inspired the England 5, Germany 1 song by English punk band The Business) in qualifying for the 2002 World Cup.
-First time since Euro 2004 that Germany didn't win at least one match in the knockout round of a major tournament. In that tournament, the Germans didn't even make it out of the group stage.
-Dovbyk's winning goal in the Ukraine match was 2nd latest goal ever scored in the Euros. Latest goal in Euros was scored by Semih Senturk for Turkey who scored an equalizer in the 122nd minute in a quarterfinal match in Euro 2008 vs. Croatia. Turkey would go on to win the match on penalties.
-Ukraine's win is their first knockout round victory in the Euros, with this being only the 3rd Euros they've ever qualified for. It's their first win in a knockout round in a major tournament since their only appearance in a World Cup in 2006 when they defeated Switzerland on penalties.
-Sweden meanwhile still have not won a knockout round match in the Euros since Euro 1992, which they hosted and finished 3rd.
Also of note, none of the teams from the so-called "Group of Death" won a knockout round match.
