Does anyone know how to pronounce his last name and can provide a key or a "sounds like"?

Interesting. I've had a good number of Nigerian friends and students in classes. Many times I've seen the g will be silent in when it comes before another consonant. My take based on my experience would be what Werner put except I'd say "boy" for the second syllable.
Ee-boy-BO-din
He fills a need with his size but I'm not expecting much out of him. There is a reason the P5 schools were not recruiting him. He has potential but may not be productive until SR season.
FWIW he had an offer from Pitt.
Reminds me of Nnanna. He only started playing in high school, and although he was never an offensive powerhouse, he was a very important player for us.
Can't wait to see what the new staff can do with Greg.
I was thinking Egwu too. Someone tell me he has more potential than Egwu. Groce loved Egwu which is not a glowing endorsement to me.
One of the few programs more desperate for bodies than us. Rumors of an endorsement deal with Five Guys are swirling around the internets.
Hopefully everyone loved Egwu. He was definitely frustrating at times, but he was the best defender the Illini have had for a long time. There's a reason he's our all time leading blocks leader.
I would be thrilled if Greg got to that level!
It won't be a conditioning issue
I agree. A soccer player is generally in top condition. Raw strength usually challenges young bigs and by speed I mean the speed of the game. That is hard to adapt to for most freshmen. Of course BU plays such a high speed game Ebo may adapt quickly.
But could it be the soccer start that creates the inability to catch a ball the circumference of a dinner plate? I hope not but Egwu played like Dennis Rodman without the ball and Roberto Duran when it was thrown to him. Hoping big Greg E has better luck and skill.
Seemed to look pretty good in the video. I think he's going to be solid for us, and better than any of us are imagining.
