Nice seeing DaMonte in the picture. Was having a great season prior to the injury, hoping great things from him. A lot of attention on Ayo, well deserved. But a healthy DaMonte paired with Mark Smith are two good size and athletic guards.

Could be. My picks for surprise of the year are Trent and Ebo. I think Frazier has been overlooked as of lately and will emerge as a leader and Ebo will make the main rotation at 4-5 seeing quite a bit of time backing up both Black and Finke.

So is Matic taller than I thought (6'8'), Spicey G shorter than I thought (6'10"), or the picture of the four of them misleading.

BU said during the Werner podcast that Matic is a legit 6'10"

No kidding how can he and Spicey G both be 6'9? Maybe they are honest in Slovenia :noidea:

Looks to me like Spicey G is slumping a bit to put him arm around MS - but regardless their shoulders are pretty close - and unless Matic is blocking shots with his head, that extra neck length doesn't count. :)

Based on picture I would guess Smith as an actual 6'2, Williams 6'4 EBGB 6'7 and Auto at 6'10 easy.

Per Brad Underwood, Matic is a legitimate 6'10". Both Matic and Greg have some thicker hair so don't let that skew your perception. Having said that, all of the articles I've seen have listed Greg closer to 6'9".

Smith is a legit 6'4 could be standing of a curve....

Smith is actually taller than Williams I saw them in person

I'm 6'4 and smith is same height as me, if not a tad taller. Also think Trent is a good 6'3 but his hair is deceiving.

The Werner interview was pretty light overall. Listened to it over the weekend, and you didn't miss much if you didn't.

Here are my takeaways. Note that I'm basing this off my read of everything I've heard/seen so far, not just this one interview.

- If you doubted Alstork would be a starter and major player in this team, I can put that notion to rest. BU didn't say anything specifically about him being a better option, but the way he talked about his game makes me think he has a lot of faith in his aggressiveness, decision making, and ability to punish teams with his drives. Alstork can play the 1-3 for those of you who like positions.
- Loves the young guys and buy-in he's seen. But they're still a relatively young team --lot to learn.
- He said good things about Matic and his athleticism. Said he could guard a variety of positions because of it.
- Excited about the Dec BIG games. Talked about schedule, and you could hear he felt you needed some games where the young guys can grow and learn, but also be have the swagger to be able to play anyone, anytime, anywhere. Ultimately, said he doesn't have a lot of control over schedule. Mentioned how Maui next year is going to be loaded with AZ, Duke, among others. He wants a schedule that supports being ready for conference play.
- Huge passion for the game. Spoke highly of his mentors, Hugs, Frank, and others. Said those guys were fun, even though as fans you only see them in super-competitive mode.
- Obviously, it's tough to talk recruiting leading up to a signing period, so nothing much to report there even though there's a lot going on. Said it's a guards game, and he recruits that way.

Personally, I like his interviews. He doesn't say things he shouldn't, and leaves me with the impression that most of the talking will be done on the court. Isn't getting ahead of himself, and seems to enjoy and respect the process.

Just curious, does the practice facility stay open all day. I wonder if anyone has idea of how the guys work out prior to the official start of practice starts. Figure they have strength and conditioning going and shooting, wonder if we have any idea if they play pickup too?;)
