Is anyone hearing anything on whether the Friday game against Michigan will be postponed?

Heard (on Monday morning quarterback) that Mich. has a player that they want to redshirt and is working with the B10 to exclude him from the minimum number of healthy players required to play a game (so, even though he is healthy he wouldn't count towards the 7 players the conference requires to play the game). Have no idea on credibility.

Exactly. The winner of this conference will get the advantages in the NCAA tournament. On another note, I have watched Purdue play several times this season and I'm not very impressed so far for what everyone thought they should be.

I see where you are coming from, but I still have enjoyed watching them play. I really have minimal I'll content for that program.

I think they are a bit less than the sum of their parts. That’s likely because they never have their 3 most impactful players on the court at the same time. The flip side is that they always have an excellent center out there.

Yeah, I think a lack of hatred of Purdue is very common among Illini fans. The portion of the fan base that would be the closest to Purdue fans (i.e., Eastern IL and whatever Illini fans reside in Western IN) have the Hoosiers to hate and share that bond with PU, while fans in other areas hate other teams more (e.g., hating Iowa in the Quad Cities or Mizzou in the Metro East).

Plus painter is a generally likeable guy and they don't generally play dirty.

Probably super unlikely at this point but how many conference wins do you think it would take for us to get a 1 seed again? 18? 19? 20? Obviously the Big Ten Tournament plays a role as well.

I think a 1 seed is tough. Baylor and Gonzaga look pretty unlikely to lose their 1-2 spots, so that leaves 2 slots to compete for. Maybe if we end up with 17 or 18 conference wins and win the tourney? That's a tall order, but I'm just not sure the Big Ten is in nearly as good a position to get a 1-seed this year as last near.

I'd argue we weren't really in that much better of a position at this time last year for a one seed than we are right now. Ap ranking aside, the wins just weren't there yet.

Another finish to the season like last year and we will get a one seed. But I agree with your win totals and a conf tournament championship. Perhaps 18 wins and an appearance in the title game does it for us, assuming the team who wins doesn't take a 1 seed as well.

I think the key differences last year were we had a tougher out of conference schedule and the Big Ten was better as well. That meant a lot more quality wins. That's why I think we'd have to do a win or two better in conference play than we did last year.

Baylor and Gonzaga are pretty much locks at this point again for a 1 seed, so we would need to jump a lot of a very good teams for two more spots, who are all going to be winning big games themselves. I'm guessing we finish up as a 4 seed.
