He tells me to be home by 8pm. I'm there.. He tells me to clean up my room. I do it.

Hahahaha. That was funny
I loved that podcast like Homer loves donuts.

From Greg Waddell's words to God's ears re: Melendez making a leap.

Interesting comment re: "institutional stuff" at play about TSJ... Are UM's admission standards significantly higher than UofI's?
I don't think so but I think the difference is their AD either wouldn't or couldn't get a waiver on the credits transfer rules and our AD was able too get one. At least that is what I took away from everything being said.

We are going to have a very tough non-conference schedule.

We'll get two of the following three in Vegas (Torvik ranking): Baylor (#2), UCLA (#7), Virgina (#17)

Now we've got Texas (#11) and we very well could get Duke (#4) or UNC (#6) in the B10/ACC challenge.

Should be a fun November/December!
Wow.

Very well could go:

#2 Baylor
#7 UCLA
#11 Texas
#6 UNC

Stacked non-con.

Let’s hope the boys are ready.

We’ll get to see what we’re made of for sure. Hope things click fast for this new group.

It'd be really nice to add Nance to help with the current roster with his addition and some great play with that schedule could be in top 3-5 possibly if not better with the right wins

Just met Tyrese Hunter this afternoon along with Kamari McGee (Wisc guard). Really humble guys, but told them I’ll root for them except when they play the beloved not sure if we’d play the longhorns unless in the dance.

Then came the announcement that we’re gonna play Texas.

I hope the Illini are able to schedule a couple of quality opponents for the non-conference games at the SFC. Maybe the ACC challenge or Gavitt games will provide the opponent.

Regarding the non-con schedule, does anyone know game times for the Las Vegas tourney? Friday evening? Sunday afternoon?

Nothing has officially been announced as far I can tell. All that is really known is that it will be on the ESPN networks. When I go onto the place where you can buy tickets, it does list a 7:00 PM (Vegas time obviously) start time on Friday but doesn't specify which game.

OK, moral dilema here. My best friend from high school went to Iowa. I went to Illinois. We're old. We're still great friends. This goes back to when we were both in school in the early 90s when I roadtripped to Iowa City and saw both our football and basketball teams win there despite obnoxious Hawkeye fans rattling car keys every time Deon Thomas shot a free throw. And him coming to Champaign to watch Nick Bell run all over a great Illini team in the most demoralizing Illinois football loss I've seen in my lifetime.

Now we're getting to that next milestone of the big 5-0. UGH!! But we saw this matchup in NYC and thinking what a great time to go see both our favorite teams play. I watch Illinois beat Texas, then don't know what to do when Duke and Iowa play. (honestly, I'd probably quietly pull for Duke)

I'm thinking lifelong frendship has to (slightly) top my hatred for Iowa, right, and the two of us do this trip together? And my friend and I have a great time in NYC, get to see the teams we live and die for play on the big stage. Or am I so petty that if I have to see Iowa win and Illinois lose it ruins the whole experience and I have a miserable 12-hour car ride back to Illinois?

Sports, man, so irrational when you think about it...

I wouldn't root for IdiotOWA if God had a gun to my head and Jesus had a hold of my balls.

Nothing trumps an Illini fan's hatred of Iowa. Bad blood there.
