I haven't seen this mentioned here yet...so apologies if it has.....but at one point during the game it was mentioned that TSJ had zero personal fouls....zero fouls...so far this season.

He finished this game with zero fouls. Three games. 26 min, 26 min, 23 min. Zero fouls.

How is this even possible? Am I overreacting? Is this one of the most insane stats ever?
Yes, I think you're over reacting. Not common, but I checked last year.

DMW had four games in a row, Purdue, Northwester, Rutgers, and MSU where he played a total of 110 minutes and had zero fouls.

I'm guessing most years we have a three game streak like this, although I doubt many come in the B1G for a top flight defender.

Dainja needs a coach to tell him to change everything about the way he shoots free throws. I can barely watch when he does it. It looks like Charles Barkley trying to swing a golf club. He doesn't need a psychologist, he needs a shooting coach.
I wholly agree, but it's kinda funny when he makes people fall into the lane with how slow it is. I mean it's only happened twice, but the one's after the lane violation seem to be the only ones he's ready to make.

If we string together like a decade+ of quality seasons, a player like Trent Frazier doesn't even make the radar as an all-timer amongst programs like that. His status is only elevated because of a rough period that preceded and began his arrival.
But then at that point would his contribution have been the catalyst, therefore a "impact on the sport of basketball" By being the Godfather of the "post NIL era" (era name holder) Illinois Basketball Dynasty

Therefore making him more deserving after the 10-peat of National titles.

I think it'd be hilarious to see a lane violations per FT attempt stat tracked somewhere. Dainja has only attempted 11 on the season (14 in his career). 2 lane violations already is a crazy pace.

If Perrin does enroll for the 2nd semester, can he play if he and BU agree? Or is there some factor that prevents it? I scanned this thread but I couldn't find it answered clearly.

That's the game where dj bald head ref called a foul on Felize as Dre and the terp guard were wrestling for the ball on the court with only 2 seconds left in the game........

I'll NEVER forget that horrendous call......Clinched his title of worst ref EVER in my mind ......JMHO
That bald-headed guy refed all 3 games Kofi fouled out in and forgot the extact stats but p sure he called 9-10/15 fouls from those 3 games

Yes, he can play.
If they don't want to burn a year's eligibility, then I assume redshirts. That would still leave 1 scholarship for a transfer. Either way, I think it makes sense for him to be with the team this 2nd semester.

I'd like him here because it would benefit him and we may need a few minutes from him in some games. If one or both of Hawkins or Dain has foul trouble, who do you put in? I don't know if Perrin would be more capable of helping than Lieb, but I'd like the coaches to have the option. Or maybe Serven helps in that circumstance.

Freshmen redshirting in college basketball is all but dead. If he is capable of helping this team he will play.

I'd have to agree, barring injury. These days if you don't think you will play immediately at a high major, you could go to a mid-major, play big minutes and transfer when you are ready for the big time.

Ah good catch. I don't really have any animosity toward AM though. Sounds like he's still a friend of the program. And may turn out to be a very good player.

Mark Smith on the other hand, was a Missouri Tiger. And that's the nicest thing I can say about him.
It's still early and against poor competition, but he's averaging 22.0 ppg and shooting 51.7% so far this year. I feel like anyone who pretends that the Miller loss was no big deal is just sour grapes. I'd love to still have him.

I also think thing shave worked out just fine without him thanks to a killer coaching staff that just absolutely will not let something like that nuke the program.

To me 7 freshman in scoring more than 20 points in a game in just over 5 years actually seems like a lot.

Prior to Underwood did that happen very often? Brandon Paul, Demetri McCamey, Dee Brown, Cory Bradford, Kiwane Garris, Deon Thomas for sure, but who else?
In the John Groce era (5 seasons), 2 freshmen scored 20+ in a game: JCL (twice) and Finke.
Tracy Abrams did it in Weber's last year (I stopped looking before then).

I don't think I'm going out on a limb here saying Underwood has recruited better players than Groce...
