Saw Rob Dauster was wearing a DADDY BRAD t shirt on his pod last nightI'm not about to pay $29.99 for my umpteenth orange t-shirt, but this is pretty cool. https://fieldof68.shop/products/booty-ball-tee?_pos=2&_psq=booty&_ss=e&_v=1.0

With centers guarding Rodgers his rebounds have dropped significantly. 2 rebounds against Purdue and 1 against spartyI think last night we discovered what we always new we had... lightning in a bottle.
If Ty continues to play aggressive on offense, like he did last night, he's going to make a lot of defenses stretched beyond their capacity to stop our team. And he'll put a lot of points on the board.
If Ty keeps scoring 15 while going 6/8, I don’t see teams sticking with that strategyWith centers guarding Rodgers his rebounds have dropped significantly. 2 rebounds against Purdue and 1 against sparty
Plus in Ann Arbor for sureGoing to have to make up for a bad loss. Need to win at least 2 at Wisconsin Northwestern MSU or OSU if we want a top 3 seed still
Agreed. This is still a top 25 team, and a 4 seed is possible without Shannon. With that being said, regardless if he comes back or not, a game/effort like that one cannot happen again, zero excusesThe last few games before MD probably got my expectations higher than they realistically should be without TSJ. It's a credit to the staff and players that we were playing at a top 10 level, but we're just not as dynamic without our All American, especially defensively.
I still think this is a legit top 25 team even without him though and we have enough pop on offense to get a 4 seed.
I didn’t think the effort was terrible. Could there have maybe been a little more on defense, sure, but effort is not something I see as a big issue with this years team. Last year it was.Agreed. Can someone help me out with a solid player comparison expectation for DGL? I was just thinking about the future of Amani Hansberry, Morez Johnson, Nico Moretti, DGL, etc and got pretty excited for the potential of the young guys.
Agreed no excuses for TA. I think the effort could have been better but I don't put this loss on the coaches. Missed layups and TOs played a larger role in this game than lack of in-game adjustments.I agree @Kendall Gill’s Uncle. Effort wasn’t the issue when the Illini built an 11 point lead. The problem was that Maryland found a few things that worked on Offense and Defense and the Illini coaches did nothing to adjust. Yesterday was on the coaches 100%, and Tim’s handshake antics were the icing on bad day for the staff.
Definitely some significant effort issues, but I think “missing layups” is an oversimplification. There were a few we should’ve made, but a lot of it was their defense and length around the rim.Yall love to find some coaching issues…..we made 8 layups and didn’t rebound….thats pretty much it…..as for TA…..Reese said some things to the fans that TA didn’t think was very tasteful.
Good
Why do you think Brad has a hard time adapting when scouted well by other teams?Good
I’m concerned that anyone close to the team would think the loss is that simple. Hummel was pretty shocked the whole second half the Illini didn’t adapt to what Maryland was running in the paint. Brad called 2 timeouts the entire game with the 2nd timeout with more than 8 minutes left. It felt as if the staff wasn’t even trying to win the game, and were content to roll the ball out then take a seat.Yall love to find some coaching issues…..we made 8 layups and didn’t rebound….thats pretty much it…..as for TA…..Reese said some things to the fans that TA didn’t think was very tasteful.
Fair. That's what confidence is. I want our staff to understand that element well and to have a bit themselves. The sincere optimism, though, has hurt more than helped lately. I'll grant 10 minutes of optimism to any coach under most circumstances. And to Brad? 15 minutes. Hell, make it 20 this year. But sticking with something for 30+ minutes of a 40-minute regulation after seeing it turn on you is just ASKING to lose.I’m concerned that anyone close to the team would think the loss is that simple. All in all, the staff has exceeded my expectations for this year with or without Shannon, but Brad’s biggest weakness from years past continues to present itself.
