Wagler is 13th in the nation (1st in B10) in 3pt %.

To qualify a player must attempt 2.5 threes per game and play in 75% of games.

I still haven't learned the little symbols for each school, like which G is Georgia and which is Gonzaga. Same with the V's for Vanderbilt and Villanova. Also the different cat heads.

And who is the blue plus in the upper right? They're always the best at everything. They must be off the charts good.

The red and black "G" in the style of the Packers is Georgia.
The bulldog head right above their logo in this chart is Butler.
Gonzaga uses a "GU" logo or a profile bulldog with a spiked collar.
Drake, Samford, Fresno St, Miss St, Yale and others all use some form of full body bulldog.
Georgetown uses a bulldog logo even though they are the Hoyas.
UL-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns used to use a bulldog, until he was replaced by an anthropomorphic pepper of some kind.

This has been today's episode of Know a Bulldog.

Sorry, I'm not a cat person - you'll have to look those ones up.

I think the most impressive thing this staff does is identify high level talent. Just look over the last 5 years:

Podz- granted he didn’t play much at Illinois, but the staff signed him. Borderline top 100 that becomes a 1st round NBA pick after his sophomore year.

Jeremiah Fears- staff identified and got him. Granted he didn’t stay but He becomes a lottery pick his freshman year.

KJ- found in Europe. 1st round pick after freshman year.

Wagler- found outside top 150. Will become freshman lottery pick.

Mirkovic- found in Europe. Highly productive freshman.

This is high level talent finding. Everyone knew guys like Riley and TSJ were good so I don’t really count them as “find”. And Fears certainly was highly thought of but nobody thought he’d skip his senior year and be a one and done.

This staff absolutely knows what to look for in a way I think most prior staffs haven’t

Wasn't a star?

He was 3rd team All BIG that year and was our second leading scorer by a wide margin (Plummer 14.6ppg; Trent 11.6ppg; Kofi 20.9ppg).

I think Plummer is very underrated.
“Star” is 100% subjective. I thought he was good but I personally would only put guys like Kendall Gill, Nick Anderson, and maybe Ayo in the “Star” category over the last 30 years.
I think guys like Will Riley and Wagler would have reached that has they been here for 2+ years (I’m assuming Wagler is gone after this season).
3rd team all conference does not meet my subjective standard/definition of a star.

I'd put Kofi and TJ in the star category. Kofi was on All America lists and TJ, had it not been for the unfortunate situation....first team All American. Jersey retired.

I think you are missing a few old timers

Dee Brown
Frankie Williams
Deron Williams
Brian Cook

to name a few

"Maybe" Ayo? You mean the All American Ayo? No Kofi? The two time All American Kofi?

Our next 2 games, UCLA and USC:

USC — #205 in defensive rebound rate
UCLA — #251 in defensive rebound rate

For context, Indiana is #147 and we got 15 OREBs. Michigan State is #1 and we got 14 OREBs (yes, albeit in an OT game; still pretty impressive).

My goal over these next two games would be to push 30 OREBs.

Yes, Illinois is a pretty good Offensive Rebounding team, #4 in the nation.

The weird One Piece promotion is hitting big time. There were a fair number of people at the Indiana game who were clearly only there for the giveaway and scalpers standing outside after the game offering $100 cash for the cards.
Yep, walked outside realizing I missed my chance to turn in the voucher. If you went out on the east side, though, you got a raw deal. Only $50 for the card!
