Is it? That sucks..... First thing I though was I gotta figure out a way to go to that game. But mid-week is a no-go.... How stupid is that scheduling???

#203
Why is this the middle of the week????
I can think of two completely legitimate reasons.

1) The United Center had December Saturday/Sunday conflicts with the Blackhawks and/or concerts. (Bulls conflicts wouldn't matter, as the UC game has often been an early Saturday game on the same day as a Bulls game that night.)
2) TV wanted it in the middle of the week. I'm not saying I agree with it, but I would imagine this will be a big midweek draw for FS1 since it's a Big Ten "home game" and the Big Ten's TV partners will air the game.

Here's how I am viewing roles right now:

Stars/Go to scorers:
Tomi
Andrej

Trent Frazier Role-Great 3rd option with good defense:
Kylan

Guys who are capable of going for 20 on a given night:
Petrovic-Could be leader in assists
Big Z
Mirkovic

Glue Guy:
Ty

Role players:
Ben
Jake
Lee (Will get the least amount of minutes)

Very good roster. Tomi, Andrej, Kylan all should be all league guys if not more, Petrovic and Big Z have that upside as well. With the age, talent, and experience, I have high expectations for this group. Second weekend minimum, but they have a chance to do something special. That's what you want going into every season.
We're definitely going to be top 3 in the euroleague next year. Fenerbahçe SK may give us some trouble.

hope BH has a redemption year for us as a solid bench player. was an unfortunate victim of unreasonable expectations. a lot of people (including myself) expected MD-type contributions despite clear evidence that MD was much more capable of making the jump to B1G

I prefer Bench Ben, too. I am glad we have a lineup now it's hard to see him start.

For the life of me I can’t understand why a player of Yaxel’s caliber would commit to a team before he exits the draft. Did he not see what Coleman Hawkins was able to command last year? He would certainly command more.
Coleman had to play for KSU. And no one really knows what he got. I'd be shocked if he got his reported $2 million asking price.

Assuming the commits are signing and playing, I am going to go out on a limb and predict scoring, assists, and rebounds for every major contributor.

Ty Rodgers 8 ppg, 1 apg, 5 rpg
Kylan Boswell 14 ppg, 3 apg, 5 rpg
Jake Davis 3 ppg, 0 apg, 1 rpg
Tomislav Ivisic 15 ppg, 2 apg, 9 rpg
Ben Humrichous 5 ppg, 1 apg, 3 rpg
Jason Jakstys 1 ppg, 0 apg, 1 rpg
Zvonimir Ivisic 8 ppg, 1 apg, 6 rpg
Andrej Stojakovic 17 ppg, 2 apg, 6 rpg
David Mirkovic 9 ppg, 1 apg, 6 rpg
Mihailo Petrovic 9 ppg, 5 apg, 3 rpg

I'm looking forward to what could be the BEST season in the BU era.........

Assuming we conquer the DON'T list'
* Don't lose to mizzery
* Don't lose games to teams we should beat
* Don't let teams come into OUR HOUSE and win
* Don't let illness or unforeseen circumstances throw a monkey in the wrench
* Don't have a craptacular defense
May I add * Don't lose to Iowa....

This would put us as the 2nd-ranked team in scoring, 39th in assists, and 1st in rebounds by a healthy margin.

YES! It also would mirror our stats from this year with a slight uptick in points. Unless I am adding wrong.

Easy solution... Add 2 assists to petrovic's number, add 2 to tomi's and add 1 more for kylan.

89 ppg. That's pretty high. Around 83 ppg this last year?

Yeah, it's another 6 points higher than. Last year. I'm not sure who scores less points if they don't go that high, though. Maybe Stojacovic and Ivisic lose a couple?

I mostly agree. The numbers in bold were tweaked. I think many of the differences are what they can do vs. what they will do in their assigned roles.

Ty Rodgers 5.5 ppg, 1 apg, 6 rpg
Kylan Boswell 12 ppg, 3 apg, 4 rpg
Jake Davis 3 ppg, 0 apg, 1 rpg
Tomislav Ivisic 15 ppg, 3.5 apg, 8 rpg
Ben Humrichous 4 ppg, 0.5 apg, 1.5 rpg
Jason Jakstys 0.5 ppg, 0 apg, 0.5 rpg
Zvonimir Ivisic 8 ppg, 1 apg, 6 rpg
Andrej Stojakovic 15 ppg, 2 apg, 5 rpg
David Mirkovic 7 ppg, 1 apg, 5 rpg
Mihailo Petrovic 12 ppg, 6 apg, 3 rpg
83 / 17.5 / 40

I'm expecting the number of possessions/game to decrease based on better defense. I'm also expecting Ben to be a 5-7m/game player.

Seems reasonable...it seems hard to have 2.6 more assists a game and have the total score go down by half a point a game, but either way, I think we are looking pretty good!

I'm expecting more baskets on cuts w/Tomi serving and more made 3s on the same style passes as last year vs. missed 3s and scrambled put backs. The overall points aren't going up much due to fewer expected possessions. Our assist rate last year wasn't great.
