According to this he only played 4 games in 2020 and 3 games last year: https://fightingillini.com/sports/football/roster/alex-palczewski/12205

That’s what i based my comment off of. Not sure why the discrepancy, but 247 says 2020 was the year he is being granted the red shirt for. Either way I’m thrilled he’s back!

Ok, so that's the source of misinformation I heard on the WCIA report which said he played in 3 games last year. That total is incorrect. He did actually start in all twelve games, which is confirmed by checking the participation charts for the individual games, not that my memory needed to check that haha.

Having Palcho back is huge. Putting on some orange colored glasses, you could say that the OL will go from being very questionable to pretty solid.

T Julian Pearl (returning starter)
G Alex Palczewski (52 career starts)
C Josh Kreutz (staff is high on him)
G Jordyn Slaughter (would have been a 2021 starter before breaking his ankle)
T Isaiah Adams (one the best juco OTs)

Don't forget about Philstrom. I believe he was a junior this past year and played a good amount (from what I recollect).

Gives another day to prepare for Virginia, so not necessarily a bad thing IMO.

At least it isn't a home Friday night game.

Same here. I'm not sure how to reach him, but I'd be happy to edit his next article free of charge.
Really needs more than editing. Can you do a breezy, conversational style?

Sub out one of Kreutz or Slaughter for Zylon. He was one of the top JUCO OL as well and Miller has said he’s going to play the best 5. He’d be an ideal OG especially after Tank helps him trim up a bit.
