Thanks to all for the details on this metric. It seems odd that his was so bad and no one else was close given that subs are usually done in pairs or triplets. So Ayo was usually coming and going out alone, meaning he had very specific roles. Makes sense.
Sesc already went over the differences looking at +/- by game vs the season. My favorite way to look at it is lineup over the course of the season.

Sometimes it’s interesting to see differences and a lineup you didn’t expect is actually way better for you than you expected.

Ayo Dosunmu: Energizer Bunny taking advantage of what’s given to him

Welcome to the top 10, Ayo Dosunmu! The second-round pick out of Illinois was an All-American last season in college, so it’s not a huge surprise that he’s found a niche early in his NBA career. But I’m not sure even I expected him to be as helpful as he’s been to the Bulls when I ranked him as a clear first-round grade in the 2021 draft class.

... plus a bunch more

Not sure if this has been posted but Giorgi is getting it going too!

-Grand Rapids Gold forward Giorgi Bezhanishvili could be on the radar for a 10-day contract, Shaw tweets. He has averaged 16.4 PPG and 8.6 RPG in his last eight contests for the Nuggets’ affiliate.
I’d love to see some of his games. If anyone knows if they are streamed anywhere, please post it.

Man can you imagine what it’d do for BU if Giorgi found a way to make a roster?

Not saying Giorgi owes it all to BU as I’m sure he’s been working his butt off for the past year, but dang what a tale BU could tell in the living room.

Plucked unranked/lowly ranked GB from a team of studs and got him to a position where he’s making money and earning PT in the NBA. That would be AMAZING.

Imagine what’ll happen if Kofi and his “game doesn’t suit the NBA” style gets on the floor for an NBA team??

I think Giorgi is a mixed bag for BU.

General question here, did Howard just not deploy Franz Wagner correctly or is his game just that much more suited to the NBA?

NBA is a different game. That’s why college success doesn’t mean much in draft picks. Size speed athleticism are bigger factors.

Caruso just entered the health and safety protocols. Sucks, but Ayo's going to continue getting good tick.

I think Giorgi is a amazing mixed bag for BU.
FIFY!

And that mixed bag was full of Kofi and Ayo. Just like Trent, Giorgi accepted his reduced role and danced and smiled through it all....despite half a world and more than a year removed from his loved ones.

It's pretty easy to forget what happened to Giorgi with so much Ayo and Kofi. If you take his AMAZING!!, amazing, freshman season and project he remains one of the top 2-3 options for all three of his years....he's probably at least third team All B1G or honorable mention.

He went from starting 33 games as a freshman...to 0 as a Jr., his minutes nearly halved his Jr. year, after almost 13/6-ish as a freshman.

Project that forward with the same usage? With no Kofi? He's a 15-20pt/8 rebound Jr? Pretty heady B1G air.

Much as I love Giorgi, he 100% made the right call.

BU prior to Kofi's freshman campaign talked about how he was going to have to figure out how to utilize Giorgi at the same time as Kofi. In two seasons, he never really figured it out and Giorgi's numbers dropped each season.

So while Giorgi certainly speaks well to someone's talent scouting ability, it's a bit of an oddity to have a guy doing this well in the G-League with such lousy numbers in college. Those two years we're great and I'm glad Giorgi handled it so well. But I wish BU had been able to figure out a way to utilize him in years 2 and 3 like he did in year 1.

No basketball guru here, but it is it as simple as Giorgi is a 5 but not a 4? Kofi wasn't going to play the 4...
Glad he's doing well in Grand Rapids...would love to see him make the jump this year

That's simply putting it on BU to turn regular bacon into breakfast sausage.

Kofi and Giorgi are both bacon. Giorgi's freshman success came as bacon (5's).
Giorgi is regular bacon. Kofi is Neuske's premium applewood smoked bacon.

You never put regular bacon on the table when you can serve Neuske's....and you can't turn regular bacon into Neuske's. Nor can you just put it over on a side plate and turn it into premium breakfast sausage (4).

I’d like more bacon analogies please.

I wouldn't frame it that way. Some folks look at it the stretch 4 line-ups as a failed experiment, but if he's developed through it and learned things that help him, it may ultimately increase his value at the next level despite the lower productivity while he was learning. I haven't watched him as a pro, so I don't know the answer, but there are many paths to success, some less traveled.
