I'm pretty confident JW will pull the plug after the season, unless of course there is significant improvement, which does not appear likely.

Fahey has had her chance and failed. Time to move on.
She should just quit. This level of competition is just over her head. She’s just going through coaches and players and not adding any level of improvement to the team’s performance. Listen to her press conferences. She’s talking about we need to do better trying to counter other teams because she hasn’t put the team in a position to have other teams adjust to them. Winning starts with defensive pressure and they fail to make other teams uncomfortable on a consistent basis. Unless it’s a small school that she’s hoping to get a win with to get to double digit wins on the season.

Unfortunately she won’t quit in order to avoid having to make JW’s fire her. He’s obviously emotionally tied to that type of decision. I’m pretty sure it will just be another year of turnover with coaches and players. Some coaches are just cut out for DII and DIII, not high level DI.

Looking at the Illinois box scores certain things jump out at you almost every game. In this game-1)-28 turnovers 2)-two starters go 2-14 from 3 point range and the team shoots 18% from long range. 3)-One player goes 3-17 from the field while one of our bigs hits 80% of her shots but only gets 6 shots and 4)-we lead 18-17 after one quarter then allow 58 points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Not good Bob. ☹

Looks like most of our box scores the past 5 years.

Josh will have to make a change at the end of the year. There are several coaches Josh can pick from to turn this wreck of a program around

Currently up 10 after 1 against Wisky. Don't get too excited, though, the Badgers are 3-10 on the season. We gotta hold onto win here or I'm gonna lose my friggin' mind.
Former Illini coach Scott Merritt is now an assistant at Wisconsin. May have jumped from the frying pan into the fire.

Wisky cut the lead to 2 at the half, but we get the easier victory. 1-2 in the conference. Other than at Wisky and the last game of the regular season against Rutgers, not a lot of obvious opportunities to win left.

A dub is a dub. They need some momentum and you take what you can get.

I can't begin to tell how disappointed I am in this year's performance. I thought enough talent was coming to show at least a modicum of improvement. They simply do not effectively play together as a team. They do not execute. Someone needs to come in and impose some structure and discipline.

Will she stay when the inevitable coaching change happens? Big question.

Hard to say, but she could also be the reason a change doesn’t happen if they get someone to go with her. She’s exactly what the program needs. Just needed it 4 years ago.

I like McKenzie and I like Peebles. The freshman from Baltimore is too selfish. The few times we try to fastbreak she never tries to find her wing.
