The youtube channels "309 Sports" and "Sports4DaGirls:" are posting recruiting profiles and highlights from Illinois HS girls bball.

Another Peoria high schooler probably worth recruiting is Lexi Baer, class of '26. 6'1" with all-around game.

Here's another 6'1" class of '26 with all-around game: Trinity Jones of Naperville Central.

wow , the first girl bears a strong resembelance to Heidi Gardener from Saturday Night Live ......uncanny

Between Tahj Bloom, 6’3” 4 star from Grayslake; Roisin Grandberry, 6’3” 4 star from Rolling Meadows: Xamiya Walton, 4 star from Butler Prep; Guyton, Hargrove and Froebe, there is plenty of in-state talent in Illinois Class of 2024 to challenge Coach Green and her staff to put an exclamation point on the program’s turnaround.

Apparently not in Walton's top 10. Bloom and Grandberry were top two preseason IL players, but made no all state teams, and their respective teams went nowhere. Maybe they were injured, don't know and can't find out.

It’s been reported Bloom, who transferred to Bolingbrook last year, tore her ACL early in the season.

Might need to chat with the mom instead...super talented basketball player who might be the bigger name.

AJ Guyton does an Indiana basketball podcast. It is up to Aaliyah but it wouldn't hurt mentioning to her parents they could watch their daughter play a lot more in Champaign ;)
Maybe a bigger name if you follow the women’s game on the international stage. But for a Central Illinois kid like myself, AJ’s a pretty big deal.

Good pointing out that mom is a very accomplished player in her own right. I flat out wasn’t aware.

Seems somewhat unfair that she has to choose which country to play for for the rest of her life at 17.

AJ is a big name in Illinois and Indiana in general. Sure a ton of college basketball and NBA followers remember his name. In the US more have heard of AJ while worldwide I would probably say more have heard of her mom. Think she played in something like 4 Summer Olympics and 4 World Championship appearances alone.

Best case scenario is Aaliyah will choose Illinois and be so talented she can play in the WNBA and during offseason play overseas. Hopefully it doesn't come down to Illinois and Indiana and we have to sweat it out...

Side note about a ton of talent on the Mac Irvin Lady Fire. Unless it changed AJ Guyton has been the 17U coach of that squad

I don't know about this play-in game status, but then I am not versed at all on the state of the world of women's college basketball.
