My first impression of Mirk was that he is going to be a guy who isn't flashy, never makes mistakes, and makes every single play (love). Then he slips in that sweet reverse layup.
I might need to go by me a jersey.

.....and I remember where late in the game he shared the rock with Jason......I thought this guy get's it
I thought Stojakovic was pressing a bit with his first few shots but settled down and played well overall. That pass to Jakstys was a great look and showed that he's not an offensive blackhole. More than that for me though, I was excited to see him show the same energy on defense that he does on offense.

Jakstys is absolutely silky in pick and rolls

Everyone else, great job. Andrej will find his rhythm. Lots of people that have never hooped in their lives on this thread talking about how he’s “unplayable”. Ok, TSJ was unplayable then a few years ago after coming back- sure am glad Brad didn’t bench him.

Let’s keep it rolling. Fully healthy, this is a top 5 team.
Careful, that’s some Brad-level hyperbole. There’s only one person here who said that. 😉

Go root for someone else, the kid has not practiced and you are bad mouthing him already. Plus minus is the worst way to judge the ability of a player in a game.

The dipsy doodle from our 6’9” 250lb power forward tonight is deserving of some oohs and aahs:

The play that actually impressed me more didnt turn into any stats for him but he drove baseline and threw a jumping left handed wrap around pass behind the defender to the top of key to Kylan. The vision and ability to find an angle to make that pass would be phenomenal for a PG let alone a 6'9 freshman PF.

I was very impressed within the D, the first half, they had impossible looks several times they were shooting when the shot clock was running down. I thought Jake in State Farm was solid. Ben is becoming an EDG. Z was a beast with his blocks and intimidation around the rim. Wagler is an absolute steal. I cannot believe his only other major offer was Minnesota. Boz played like TSJ, just took the game over. But what I was most impressed was the passing of the ball. They whipped it around the court and found the right open shot. It was poetry in motion. This is a dangerous team as we. Are good now but by Jan, we should be Very Very Good.

Andrej played more than expected. He looked not terrible, but definitely a weak link on the team. I'm not sure he's playable against Texas Tech.
He looked rusty and he still went for 9/5/3 with AT LEAST 3 other tips out that don’t count as his rebounds. He had one bad stretch where he forced things. Probably due to adrenaline and wanting to show what he can do.

Once he played within himself he was one of the best players on the floor. Speaking of floors…. Tonight was probably the floor for him.

Moving forward, AS will be an EXTREMELY important piece.

Losing Tomi for a few weeks may put a huge damper on the non-conference ceiling… Lots of tough games coming up. Need Z to stay sharp. Great defense from him tonight & he has such great hands for a big. He can do anything Tomi can do when he’s focused. Biggest stretch of his basketball life the next few weeks to show out.

Bolded is the key. He's way more athletic than Tomi. But Tomi thus far in their careers has been the more consistent and focused player.

As I mentioned in another thread...KB is the straw that stirs the drink....he was talking with Big Z during the review of Z's foul near the end of the game...couldn't tell what was being said...but I'm pretty sure it was a teaching moment and KB was keep the big guy focused....MONEY!
Team goes with Kylan 100%.

When he's shooting the 3 with confidence he becomes unguardable. You start seeing why he was a 5 star to begin with.

I believe we are witnessing a 2nd year jump in Kylan similar to Terrance year 1 to year 2. He's clearly not afraid to take the reins and be the leader of this team.

Anyone else kinda impressed with Jakstys? Obviously the third man on the depth chart for the 5 spot but dude can hold his own still. Think he can do well in a Brandon Lieb+ role.
He's way better than Lieb. The difference is Jakstys can move. He runs well, is agile, and is a good leaper. And now he has some solid weight on him.

Usually I don't take much away from these blowouts, but this team has a nice chemistry on both ends of the court. They seem to communicate much better defensively than we have in the past few years. Rebounding has been really good. How we do with a more athletic team will be tested against Texas Tech. Offensively, we're tough to guard.

And to be fair, he posted “Playable?” which to me means kind of an open-ended question that can be debated by others. Is he playable? Is he not playble? At least that was my take.

I do not intend this as anything other than curiousity, but how do you know he will be out a few weeks? I haven’t seen anything reported yet as to the nature and extent of his injury (though I am the first to admit I could have easlity missed it). Major bummer if true.

Wagler 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, 0 turnovers

Mirkovic 17 points, 11 rebounds.

2 pages of posts about Stojakovic. These dudes are TRUE FRESHMAN.

Also shout out to Ben he looks ready to be an EDG this year. He's got that physical edge that was missing last year.
Boswell said these were the best two freshmen he ever played with. Either he got caught up in the moment and forgot about Jakacionis and Riley already, or holy crap we’re in for a ride.
