At this point it’s fair to say that Bret has earned my trust. Unless our entire 2-deep is ravaged by injuries there is no reason to doom about his Illini teams. When was the last time, if ever, that Illini football cleared the low bar of having 6 straight seasons with at least 5 wins? When Zuppke was the coach?

8-4 (6-3) is not out of the realm of reasonable, if unlikely, possibilities. I'd put money on 6-6 or 7-5 first, but I'd never have put money on 5-3 (3-2) a month ago.

Roger Cooper has done a HELL of a job! This defense wouldn’t have been able to contain Fremd high school a few weeks ago.

Big time hat tip. I don’t care who the opposition is. Giving up 27 points TOTAL in 2 games is extremely impressive.

If we can somehow sneak out 1 more win this season, it'll be a successful season. I didn't have very big expectations for this season and after losing Houser, I thought for sure the bowl possibility had passed us by. Glad we still have a shot.

Am I wrong to think Friday against Nebraska is our best chance at getting 1 more win this season?
