Love. LOVE. Laughery and Anderson. But, BB, your stubbornness is unwarranted at this stage in the season. We need JB to help us get bowl eligible and potentially win multliple more games. IF he fumbles, it will be but a small setback. The upside is off the charts.

This is not a argument with your point, just an ignorant question: Did the repeated Laughery up-the-middle runs throughout the game ultimately help open those later breakthroughs, was there a scheme change, or were those different personnel just better as to take advantageof our schemes?

That 4Q more than made up for the ugliness of the preceding three. Identical ending to the game we saw here in ā€˜23. Same end zone, too, just shorter kick.

A great end to a spectacular fall afternoon here.

This one is for Pops.

So glad BB was able to get this W. Maybe it makes Bret's day a little less cloudy.

Laughery is a great change of pace back. I don't see him as a run establisher.

Barnett is a prototype RB. It's time to get past whatever "ball security" issues we haven't seen and give him the ball 20 times per game.

Laughery 3rd down back. Jordan Anderson for some short yardage and rest spelling.

But hey...I'm no Barry Lunney Jr......

I thought he was solid throughout.

People just blamed the receiver’s drops on the quarterback.
To an extent, but there was also a couple of passes that could have gone for TD's or at least more yardage if they weren't under thrown and a couple that the receivers made great catches on.

Don't get me wrong, I was not calling for Houser to come or of the game. You can't just blame all of it on the receivers. He understandably started out rusty.

Possibly they softened the d line; and not to be argumentative in any way either. But on darn near every JB run the dude just punishes a defender. That alone would serve to soften up a defense way more than weak runs up the middle by a running backs 30 lbs lighter than him.

As a matter of fact, I think it would enhance AL's ability to break big runs as the game goes on.

These walk off endings are giving me more white hair on top of my white hair. But you know what, it is very satisfying to me to see the discipline BB has brought to our program since he has been here. And to see the players buy into this discipline to ultimately win the darn game.

He broke one big run and otherwise had 5 carries for 16 yards. He's definitely good enough to play but let's not act like hes miles ahead of Laughery yet. Higher ceiling for sure but Laughery and Anderson have definitely earned their role with good all around play beyond just running the ball.

Edit to add Laughery averaging 6.9 ypc coming in. Dude has just been good this year.

Didn't say he was miles ahead, but still stick by my post #92. JB is clearly different than any other back we have in the best way. As a matter of fact I think he could help our line in that regard as well. It seems to take them a while to start moving defenders.
