Illinois 73, Michigan State 70 POSTGAME

Driving back home after the game. Electric scene in the AH tonight. Haven't heard the home crowd this loud for a game in a long time, since maybe the IU win in 2013. Gutty W. Proud of the seniors, especially MH. Two more wins and I think we're in the Dance at long last.

it really was a very loud crowd and so much fun to keep playing well

If Michigan loses and we win, what is the tie breaker?

Regarding getting into the NCAA? It is often who is the best team over the last 8-10 games. With the emergence of Kipper and TJL we are a more complete team than even a month ago.

What a great college basketball game!

Great win, congrats to the entire team.

SUPER proud of the team effort and the win they get to claim because of it.

38 more minutes from Malcolm. Game high minutes, points, assists... and that's par for the course. He is talent that works hard.

What an atmosphere tonight! Congratulations to the team and coaches! As a couple players that have been interviewed have said, it's not over and they need to take care of business Saturday.

Miles Bridges is a fantastic player but also got some questionable calls. His NBA move and finish was great, but there was an obvious hook on Kipper on the spin. He also clearly walked at the end of the first half, a ref mistake that was worth 4 points. There was an obvious missed travelling call on Langford as well in the second half. And the pick on Malcolm included an extended shoulder.

Malcolm Hill. Indeed, an Illini great. So happy for him. Gave it his all for 4 years, and not done yet. And a Weber recruit originally, right?

Well done, Bruce. That evens things out for me, if not for your haters.

Who would have ever thought a year and a half ago that Maverick Morgan would be a powerful inside force that is either double teamed regularly or will dominate offensively? Way to go Maverick! Congratulation to Malcolm and to all the guys! Congratulations to Coach Groce and to the coaching staff! Great game!!!!!

The pick on Malcom was really close to ruining this whole night. Looked scary from my couch.

Record vs. Purdue which would be in Michigan's favor.

Unless Iowa also finishes at 9-9, in which case the W-L record of the "round robin" between the three teams controls. Our 3-1 record then gets us the seven seed.

Not holding my breath on Michigan losing again, nor on Iowa going 1-1.

I just want to say again that this game is what Illinois basketball games are supposed to be. Loud and proud.

What a game. And then what a moment by Groce and Hill in the post game interview. Malcolm has been my favorite Illini post the Dee Brown era. Great kid, great basketball player. Malcolm had a great game, as did Maverick. I have really enjoyed watching both of those two improve during their time here at Illinois. Keep bringing this type of intensity for the rest of the season and good things will continue to happen for this team.
