Best you can hope for for a B10 road opener
Some big holes that lead to justifiable questions on roster construction… but certainly feels like culture was prioritized a LOT more than last year, and it shows.
Defense was unrelenting, our key tonight and a key to our future success.

Nice to have Coleman back on the defensive side of the ball and his length/height on the offensive side during a press. The turnovers need Cleaned up, but I like the chemistry this team has on both ends.
We are a defensive menace and when the offense is clicking, a darn connected team on that end too.
- Shannon was lethal tonight. Both ends. All-American level
- Hawkins looked incredible on the defensive end and got involved near the bucket
- Domask looked like our clear #2 and had some great defensive possessions
- Ty might be the best on-ball defender in the country. The way he avoids screens and squares up on the perimeter. And man, is he good on the glass
- Quincy was huge for getting out to that early double digit lead. He is a man among boys on defense
- Luke’s shooting upside is massive and will keep the defense honest
-Great, great, great minutes from Justin Harmon tonight. He was the best player on an NIT team last year, and he’s going to be a big part of our success
- Dain had some really good 1H moments
If we can overcome silly turnovers and continue to shoot the ball at even a DECENT clip, our defense is going to give us a top 4 Big Ten floor and Big Ten championship type ceiling. Massive, statement win.
