Speaking of officiating, I propose a new rule for NCAA Men and Womens BB. In the last two minutes of a game both teams when fouled, go to one FF and possession of the ball, miss or make. I just spent what seemed to be an hour watching last two minutes of the Women's win over #25 Washington.

Ok. Nebraska are a good team. And Fred is an excellent coach. But they are nowhere near a top 5 team. AP voters put there votes on teams W-L. Which is why Miami (OH), not a top 80 team, is in the top 25.
They did beat us on our home court so I give them credit for that. But make no mistake, we are the better after today.

We may not win against Washington earlier this week without him shooting…

Idk why he can’t shoot consistently anymore, but he has to let it fly.
In the end, BU is going to go with BH. If BH is struggling, I have faith in this staff to get him out of there, and then encourage him to focus on this defense when he gets back in--as he's shown in some games. Plus, you have Jake to relieve BH, especially when KB comes back.

If BH hits some shots, then that relieves some of the pressure on the other players to consistently score. Let's just take what we can from BH's offensive output.

Good? Illinois wins by double digits. Mediocre or bad? Bench and game's a little closer.

In the February 1, 2026, matchup between No. 9 Illinois and No. 5 Nebraska, Illinois fielded a five-player lineup totaling 411 inches (average 6’10.2”):
• Tomislav Ivišić: 7’1”
• Zvonimir Ivišić: 7’2”
• David Mirković: 6’9”
• Ben Humrichous: 6’9”
• Keaton Wagler: 6’6”
This first-half combination, utilizing Illinois’ nationally tallest roster, is the tallest documented five-player unit in a top-10 vs. top-10 game. It remains below the all-time college record of 420 inches (UC Irvine, 2015, vs. non-Division I opponent).
There was a very short time when the 4 tallest were in with Andrej and it was 1 inch taller.

Helluva game.
Nothing quite like roadkill over a top #5 team.
Sandfort and Frager had their water shut off in the second half, and Nebraska had absolutely nothing going on the interior.
Big props to Tomi, Big Z, Mirk, Jake and Ben for making the paint a no fly zone.
I told the Nebraska fans next to me that ten years from now, they'll be talking about watching Keaton Wagler play. And now they know.

This a FANTASTIC question and one that is going to require Boswell to be a true team guy. Wagler has to continue to be the "go-to guy", the alpha and ball dominant. They have to be able to coexist in the backcourt and Kylen has to be ok being a role player. This could be a struggle. It's clearly been a struggle for Drej.

Another guy that you don't want to see lose minutes is Davis. He has become wildly valuable and cannot have minutes or role altered too much.

Brad has a lot to think about and getting Boz to learn a new role, 25 games in, is going to be a challenge.
Does Boswell's role change when he's back healthy? We are absolutely better with him in the lineup, but Keaton is initiating everything now and it's working great.
No. His role should be what it was before he was injured. Boswell was part of this run as well. I love what Keaton is doing but he is going to need help from all of his teammates. That is only going to make this team better than what it is now and take the team to the next level. This can't all of a sudden become get the ball to Keaton no matter what. The thing about Kylan and Keaton is they both worked so well together and great symmetry.

I don’t know what the o/u point total will be in that game, but give me the under, i think we can lock them up on offense.

Listen, I respect Hoiberg and think he's a heck of a coach.. but it's awfully rich in his postgame that he complained about the officials and us holding them and grabbing them in their cutting actions lol.
The entire game was extremely physical-including how they played Keaton.. Does he really want the game to become a ref show? Listen, we were extremely physical, so were you, refs mostly let it happen. Move along Fred.

Tomi picked a great game to get right tonight! We need this version of him from here on out and we have a real good chance of beating anybody. Wagler is just unreal; clear leader of this team along with KB when he gets back. Jake and Ben are playing their roles to perfection (although would like to see Ben hit a couple more wide open shots), and AS picked it up in the second half. Big Z just gives us so much on D and rebounding; his mere presence improves our D tremendously.

Kudos to the folks saying it would take a couple months of playing together for the team to gel. Was hard to see at times early on, but it is certainly happening now. Exciting couple of months + to come!

How quickly yall let two decent games cloud yalls memory. Think back and remember how BA described Boswell right before the injury. If healthy and no minute restrictions, Boswell is a better player than Jake Davis regardless of the starry eyes for many from the last three games. He is a starter and Jake is a reserve. Point blank that is what it is.

We've dog-walked scUM for a long time. It won't be any different this year. Other than it will be extra sweet with Morez taking an L. I really hope you guys finish 2nd in the conference. Then we can have our rubber match for the tourney championship!

Love this answer. You make a great point. Kylan was part of the beginning of the streak. I just hope Jake keeps playing at this level. He's been absolutely enormous.

First a favor. Has there been a letter home to Mom post? If so I missed it.

Secondly, don't know who it may or may have belonged to as a nickname, but Baby Face Assassin has be redirected to one Keaton Wagler for ALL TIME.
