On the broadcast said crowd was saying "hire Nagy" ie ND football team should. We're making jokes about Kelly leaving all night.
Heard that fans were chanting "fire Nagy" at his son's high-school football game recently! šŸ‘€ šŸ˜³ šŸ‘€ šŸ™ That's pretty rough! But I agree! I'm proud of the way our team played tonight and gutted this win out! Big shout out to our freshmen! Proud of our everyday guys! I-L-L baby!

Oddly, I think this was a bad game for NBA hopeful Kofi. He seemed to be pretty exposed guarding a perimeter playing big man. Also, he got burned pretty bad when he got switched onto guards.

Its a shame, he's such a dominant low post player.
He had a great opportunity to prove he could pass out of the post before he got fouled with 90 seconds left after he got that rebound. It would have been such a great basketball play to get it into a shooterā€™s hands with an opportunity to eat some clock. But Kofi looked dominant overall in my opinion.

Really? I thought Payne looked crappy on Defense. I havenā€™t seen him live up to that reputation at all so far
I started watching his feet last night. He's good with his footwork and getting into position where he needs to be. Reaching is what seems to get him in trouble, but that tie-up he had gives me hope that he might be settling in.

Trentā€™s surprise entrance seemed to put the swagger back into the team.
Reminded me of that pro wrestling trope when one guy is in a close battle & suddenly you hear music ā€¦the announcer says ā€œOh my god, Thatā€™s Trent Frazierā€™s music!ā€, and his buddy comes in and cleans house.
We went from treading water to obviously being the best team on the floor.
Itā€™s the stuff of legend.
Actually from start of game with DMW at pg,...there seemed to be much mor zip/speed in ball movement. That is what we need quick/crisp passes, ball was flying around and Kofi was getting assists.

I have no idea what is wrong with Curbello, but I do think when he comes back it might serve him and the team if he were to come off the bench. He brought so much energy off the bench last year, it might help avoid some of those early TOā€™s that seem to set the tone for the game?

Open question whether they meant actual flu (influenza) or stomach flu (not influenza). There are major differences in terms of how contagious it is and overall effect on health.
My guess, is flu-like symptoms/stomach flu. I highly doubt they'd be playing if they had inflienza.

Much better overall performance tonight, maybe the biggest improvement was taking care of the ball...I think only 12 TO's .....we need to improve defensively...especially on the perimeter...liked the play of the freshmen...RJ and Goode.....was surprised Podz didn't see the court....thought he was healthy enough to play???? And DW did a much better job of handling the point....getting Kofi to kick the ball back out to the perimeter is a work in progress but he's getting much better and will only help him and the offense if he continues to improve in that area....Hopefully Curbelo returns soon and he will lay a little more controlled offensively and cut down on the TO's.

It really seems like the coaches have Podz and being a step behind Goode and Melendez and I donā€™t think heā€™s going to see the court a lot this year. Love the kids potential, especially shooting, but I think heā€™s going to be more on the developmental track.

Super impressed with RJ. Decisive with the ball, made good decisions, shot well. Kid is going to be a stud.
Ball movement overall was way better tonight, hopefully Curbelo learns from this and sees what the offense can do when you move the ball instead of dribbling so much.

Great execution by the team tonight. Only thing I would have liked to have seen was going under the high ball screens for Wesley. Would have taken away his driving lanes and it didnā€™t seem like he really wanted to shoot the three.
Yeah, I agree. How they play specific players coming off ball screens is no doubt scouting report informed. (Or it is SUPPOSED to be) AND in generalā€¦going over the top is sort of the most common/default way to guard itā€¦Yet, it definitely seems there are certainly situations weā€™d be better served going under the screen than over it. I think weā€™ll continue to clean that up.

I donā€™t think Iā€™d say excellent execution just yet. But yeah, much much better.
