What view are you watching? I watched the slow motion replay in the tweet above.

Boswell didn't extend his arm and the defender ran up to the side of Boswell and most definitely didn't have position.

Will is most definitely not a one and done. Not even close. I don't see where he fits in the NBA game in the current version of him. He is not athletic enough.
And yet "experts" say Will will be the 17th pick in the first round. I don't watch the NBA, so I dunno.

Not sure what view you saw he (Ace) flopped for sure, but it was a foul KB, he lowered his shoulder and extended his arm to ward off the defender. The defender did have position as well, KB dribbled right into him.
I watched the replay in the post I replied to. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. Because in my view Ace was never in front of KB and just stepped in front. KB did not move toward Ace. It was the other way around. Anyway refs get it wrong all the time. Nothing new here.

The more I see the replay the more I think it was a foul on Boswell, as he clearly lowers the shoulder there.

But, then either Baldwin definitely oversold the contact, or Boswell is just an absolute truck for a 6-2 guy.
It was a foul. The embellishment is what hurt Ace Baldwin. And, he immediately snapped his head up to observe what the official was calling. Kylan’s bump didn’t jolt him as much as the embellishment did.

I watched how the offense flowed when Will was playing point, and when Bam was playing point. The offense is just so smooth when Bam was running it. When Will was at the point, offense kinda looked like a sports car with a manual transmission being driven by someone who hasn't learned to drive a stick.

Will’s potential is through the roof when he becomes comfortable dribbling with his head up. Seriously.

Agreed, difference of opinion or point of observation (y)

At the end of the day, it was pretty much a bang-bang type of call that goes our way sometimes and the other way sometimes. Obviously ended up having zero impact on the game overall.
Ummmm, I'm not sure that Baldwin sitting the entire 2nd half had 0 impact on the game. I think it had plenty of impact!

Sending Off Red Card GIF by Football Australia

Just think back of all the times he put the team on his back with his clutch shots in second halves of games while the rest of the team were shooting a combined 10-20% from three. KJ really helps when the team is struggling offensively. And when they're hitting 30%+ from three they can beat anyone due to their defense. So a #54 ranked Penn State should be very beatable even without KJ. He's more of a ceiling raiser for this team. He'll be most needed against the top20 teams.
Not only that, but KJ defers a good deal of the time. He is anything but a shot forcer.

That's a really good description

Will is projected #17 pick right now in the mock that ESPN dropped today, so there definitely are NBA folks still interested in him as a 1 and done right now.

Will has good handles, good size 6'8", good quickness, works hard and very good shot.

He lacks strength, crazy athleticism and go to move (step back jumper like KJ, high arching layup like Ayo, breakaway speed and strength like TSJ).

He should be a HS senior. JMO he should stay minimum 2 years, collect NIL, be part of winning team and gain strength/moves. Even if he gets drafted he is g-league bound for couple years.

If he can add strength, improve moves and average 18 ppg lead Illini to elite 8, he could become a top 10 pick.

Will was just learning. It could help his NBA stock if he can play point a bit.

I think that our youth and inexperience will cost us a game or two where we lose focus. It happens to every young team.... The Big ten is a GRIND, and with the hard early schedule, we can fall prey to not focusing for 40 minutes each night. Case in point, Northwestern. Against Tennessee, we were just learning how to win.
With guys settling into roles and completing their assignments, hopefully a lethargic game will turn out like the Washington game where we blew a 17 point lead but still won.

The biggest risk is that we fall in love with our own press clippings. I don't think Underwood lets that happen very often.

Harris stuck around all year without leaving at the semester and transferred after the season. I dont think you can really make this conclusion at this point.
True but he was not redshirting to transfer he was actually trying to better himself. He only left because of Chester leaving. Not the same situation at all. Another difference is I can honestly see major programs wanting Ty.

I want to personally extend a heartfelt O & B " THANK YOU " to the beloved for allowing me to spend 2 + hours of pure bliss watching them destroy and get some revenge on the zittening lambs tonight....................

I was down in the dumps learning that KJ would miss the game tonight and that forlornness was exacerbated by falling behind by the score of 11-5 early in the 1st half........

From that time in the game , it turned in to an Illini Hullabaloo with Illini outscoring the zit;s by a score of 86-41.........YAHOO.....

3 Illini reached the 20 point plateau with those being Ben , Tre and Rez......................total domination........

this tonight does NOT erase all those bad losses to the zits but it's a great start..........the zits had a good record before the game but the Illini broke that vinyl into a gazillion pieces and showed how talented this season's team really really is..............

View attachment 38717

pru , that was an embarrassing beatdown of the zits with our best player missing the game..........call you later hunnybunny....

View attachment 38718

ok babe , talk to you soon...............it's about time we restored the world order pertaining to the Illini - psu series........

it seemed like almost all the Illini scored except for Mr. Redd........but he did some steady dribbling to close it out..................

I'm Gandolf the Great and I approve this rout............I really really do...........

Man, it's good to have you back.

Did Coach already have an idea of how good this team can be? Or is he just a bit surprised like some around the Big Ten are right now? Whether he is surprised or not – or we are – how the Illini have looked in these last couple games is a beautiful thing.

Roundball is a game where the pieces sometimes need time to mesh well together and guys find their best roles. This seems to happening quickly with this talented group. And to put on a show like this without 'Your Top Lottery Pick' not even on the floor? These guys just showed what they are capable of doing all by themselves.

In today’s ball era, rosters have to be put together anew each year now. If this group is any indication... the best news is not how good this group is together. The best news is that Coach and his associates are damn good at finding talent and putting a cohesive group together. This is important because this is what programs have to do all the time now if they want to be among the... Elite. Guys are here just in a short window now. Every game together together is special because next year things will be different. Seize the Day.

Finding guys right down the street. Finding guys from around the Nation. Finding guys from around the World. Finding guys who are – ballers.

A couple years ago the Illini had a guy whom Coach referred to as a Savant. And now it looks like the Illini have got another one (though he didn’t play vs. the boys from the Land of Mount Nittany).

There will be bumps in the road ahead. But this group is looking like they can handle what will come.

With each passing season... the hiring of the current Illini roundball and football coaches just keeps looking better and better.

The “play” had an impact, but whether it was an offensive, defensive or no foul had no impact. I believe that is what the poster meant.

From watching in person he looked like he was experiencing discomfort. Immediately after he was bent over for quite awhile and kept trying to stretch it out. Seemed pretty legit he hurt himself, whether it was because he flopped too hard or it was a legit foul is up fir debate.

Friday Movie Crackhead GIF

He was so hurt he was able to go full speed without a break for the next 15 mins of game play. He came out at 4:42 remaining, no breaks prior to then.

I do get that he looked like he needed to stretch and shake it off when he got up and dusted himself off, but I don't buy that it was the injury that caused him to call it a night. Be interesting to see if he plays in their next game.

The coach said he had been dealing with back issues for a while. That makes it even dumber that he flopped like that on to his back.
