My problem is on the defensive end. Saying it's a problem is a bit strong. He really, really struggles with smaller, quicker ball handlers. He just doesn't have the lateral quickness and nor should he be expected to. It is his substantial role however. He's asked to do a ton.

I hope that he(and his mother) understand that sitting, watching and learning as a freshman is so valuable. Heck, Sencire redshirted to work on his body and game. DGL is fortunate to be on a contending team and learning through leadership what the growth process is. He'll have his time. Need patience and perspective here....though easier said than done.

Not sure the exact time on the clock, but there was a point, probably a little before the mid-point of the 2nd half, where it seemed Illinois finally baited Wisconsin into trading baskets and getting up and down the floor. It was back and forth, going from tied to Illinois trailing with each trip back and forth, but it definitely felt the tempo finally broke (Storr had a nice oop layup during this stretch). One of the announcers mentioned how prolific both offenses were looking, but it just seemed like a matter of time before Wisconsin was going to falter, not unlike that kid running the 400 meter that you can tell was way out front of his pace on the far straight away. Wisconsin then missed 2 shots and all the sudden the Illini were up 5. Then they started the stretches where they would get up 7 only to let the Badgers back in before finally pulling away. I am not comfortable with their lack of defense, but watching that stretch today I think I finally became comfortable trusting their persistence on offense. I hope they can keep it up!

Anybody know if Luke is ok? He whacked his head pretty hard on that fall.
Luke is playing about the perfect amount right now. I really like Luke and think he is good and has a role. I think with all the weapons we have, he is the guy you bring in after we are humming and hope they forget/lose him for 1 or 2 spot up 3's.

DD is a good role player, a rebounding old school bball center that at times cloggs up the middle. Unfortunitly the Illini are more up tempo, transistion, drive to basket thay can and do shoot 3s. Not DDs game. But I like him, his role, his attitude, his rebounding and his play around the basket at both ends of the court.

Not every player is blessed with a wealth of raw physical talent.....
And then there are the really special guys who know what they can do — what they can’t do – and find ways to be winners with that. Topping off what they have and then working to exceed it.
My favorites- warriors on the court
Marcus Damask
Matt Heldman
DaMonte Williams
George Montgomery
Steve Bardo

Also even if Dain hadn't gotten called for the offensive foul and the flagrant, he took like 18 steps. He just can't ever collect himself, and that's if he manages to catch a pass. Some of the worst hands I've ever seen. Shaun Pruitt level stone hands.
