It's hard for all of the media heads to acknowledge Ayo as POY when they already mailed in their votes for Garza in December.
Correction: more eliter. (I am a former high school graduate, after all.)We play like that, we are elite
I hope Ayo gets drafted by the Bulls. I may start watching Bulls games again.
If they do. Then they had it written in stone before the season even started. Just keep proving why Ayo is feared af. Steps on the court and he taps the Illinois and does hIs thing. Maybe not at all once. He does it better than anyone when it comes to his pace and endurance. Wear and tear and then make em dare.Anyone who is still saying Garza leads over Ayo for that honor now, is a hack. You are correct, Ayo's D and all around game is better than Garza.
So would this coaching staff and program! It would be nice, but I’d rather see him go Lotto
I am still seeing orange to this day. What an orange blur in my mind's eye, and Jay Bilas saying Wake didn't take the punch - or something like that. Had that complete game on VHS but only seconds on a DVD review of that great season now at least. Thanks for the memory. That was the greatest game ever in the history of the universe. I have the panoramic photo of the Hall framed in my Illinois shrine.
The Giorgi one was right up there, too, in my opinion. Just because I really didn't see it coming.Miller’s dunk, of all the dunks, was my favorite. He went up and some authority. Took me by surprise/
Kind of liked the Hawkins one.The Giorgi one was right up there, too, in my opinion. Just because I really didn't see it coming.
Grasping for a negative take on this game?Agree...but.....if Ayo rolls an ankle before getting that last rebound.....makes it difficult to defend the decision of leaving him in.....not to mention the effect on the rest of the season
was there!Ah... still remember Andy Kaufmanns game winner against the bird peeps.
The replay I watched on the local news didn't even show him jumping the pass, which, for me, makes it one of the greatest plays of the season.I am legit offended. They just showed the top 10 plays on Sportscenter and nothing from this game made the cut. I may be a homer with two of Curbelo’s passes and the Kofi block/Ayo fast break slam... but Trent’s steal/half court heave should have been the top play and it wasn’t even a mention. A high school game in the north burbs had a buzzer beater on the list.
The way he just palmed the ball in stride was awesome. Loved seeing his activity early in this game too. Didn't pop on the stat sheet, but he looked good out there. And that pass to Ayo on the break was beautiful.Miller’s dunk, of all the dunks, was my favorite. He went up and some authority. Took me by surprise/
Wins in the tourney is the cap. Numbers be damned.I truly believe he's gonna get one in the NCAA tournament! Triple double for Ayo in the tournament will be exactly what he deserves to cap an awesome career playing in the orange and blue for the Illini! I-L-L
Exactly. The only stat that counts in the NCAA is a win.Wins in the tourney is the cap. Numbers be damned.
No...absolutely not.....just saying that leaving your best player in a game that is over, is opening up the possibility of some criticism.....really glad BU left him in and he got the triple double....just wonder what the reaction on this board would be like if Ayo would had turned an ankle in those last few minutes....I think you, I and everyone else would be demanding some answers ......that is allGrasping for a negative take on this game?
