He has a depth of prior experience to draw from
Played great today, but he struggles when playing more athletic teams.Nico isn’t the answer for this teams woes but played inspired ball and showed a lot. Really happy for him as he earned it.
yeah that was bizzare..I hope Dainja gets his touch back around the basket.
Nobody gets benched, but you can control who starts and who ends games. Nico clearly has to be on the floor. Ty needs to learn how to shoot, so he can play off the ball. He's too limited to have him in a game late. It's 4 on 5.Question is: what does bu do?
Bench Ty to relieve the other positions besides PG? Stronger bench.
Start Moretti? Illinois do need a true PG who can shoot the 3.
Sub Hansberry and DD more? I believe so, if DD can just finish around the basket from .5 feet away.
Limit Domask's offensive output? He was non-existent in the 2nd half. Good to have as a threat anyway.
I typed before not to give up on Goode, but maybe with Moretti's play and other subs being adequate, maybe his playing time should be limited. Then MAC school next year, if he chooses.
Didn't they basically hit all of their FTs? Unreal.I really underestimated Iowa. I looked at their 11 losses and thought they aren't that good but they made a lot of tough shots in the lane and got some second chance points, seemed like that led to at least 8-10 points not sure.
21-25. We were 23-27… if you don’t count Dain.Didn't they basically hit all of their FTs? Unreal.
It's not a work in progress. This is what they are at this point.I’m really happy for Nico and Amani. Team would not have won without their contributions.
Defense still a work in progress. The drop coverage just isn’t working.
The answer to this teams woes is having a guy who can run things late. I don't care who it is. If he's going to handle the ball, run the offense and make open shots....he plays. This is a team that is that particular position away from being 22-5 vs 20-7. We flat out wet ourselves into two losses. I'll leave the Northwestern loss out of it to be conservative.Nico isn’t the answer for this teams woes but played inspired ball and showed a lot. Really happy for him as he earned it.
Going to be honest: I'd like to see Nico start in one of these games to see if he can contribute early on--by hitting some early threes.Nobody gets benched, but you can control who starts and who ends games. Nico clearly has to be on the floor. Ty needs to learn how to shoot, so he can play off the ball. He's too limited to have him in a game late. It's 4 on 5.
As long as we score 90+, I’m good with that!Don't mean to be a downer, but is everybody going to drop at least 80 on the Illini the rest of the season?
