It will improve quickly with a better coach (which should be very easy to find) so we will then begin to get better athletes and football players than we have been able to get under Beckman.

The problem is that we probably will not have a new coach until toward the end of the season. That means 3-4 months of uncertainty, and a short window of time for the new coach, assuming it is not Cubit, to recruit the 2016 class.

I think aside from Devon Robinson, they've each let the staff know they are solidly committed. Of course they'll each need to be recruited again in Dec:shield:

Exactly. It's easy to say that they're solid now. But for a lot of these guys we're one of their only high major offers, if not their only one. That tune could easily change when other, more tempting, offers start to roll in. I sincerely hope that it does not, but you never know.

Based on what your magic 8 ball.
First it will depend on the hire and who is doing the hiring will matter for that.
That is an assumption and look up assume I know i fall in the pit sometimes.
Beckman started out poorly and continually improved the opposite.
You won't see a new HC this year to change the culture or targets being recruited.
The kids already committed that another coach really wants will be hearing a buzzing all year up to signing day from other coaches so 5 months of hold your breath. Yes expect some transfers this year as well including if BC stays on a few force outs. No he did not say that it is part of why the last coach was fired. Regardless of what you thought of Beckman the things that got him fired is nearly considered a HC right by coaches.
Usually it is published as the kid wanted to go somewhere else to get a chance to play. Which sometimes the kid figures out on his own and in other the coaches make it abundtly clear what to expect.
The number of possible commits just went of the board but could be much higher.
Come back this time this year and maybe you will have an idea of what the new coach can do recruiting more likely 3 or 4 years.:hand::eek:

On the list of things that I didn't expect to see tonight this was probably at the top. Then again I would have had "Fire head coach" at top on Friday so...

Add 1 week until the season starts and that sums up things you don't expect to hear.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing a guy who went to high school with me commit to the beloved :chief:

This is awesome. There is still some good vibes in the program or he wouldn't have committed. Btw, that is exciting kewpienation. I went to high school with a tight end who committed and played for Illinois (though he saw the field sparingly). I was always proud to see him play.

I didn't mean involved with the whole mess - I meant involved with the recruitment with the kid that just committed. I would imagine most of the staff has been put in lock down mode on all social media right now.

OK, boys and girls, it's time to name that tune.
Can you guess the song to sing this to?

Welcome, welcome, Mr. Jones, Mr. Jones, Mr. Jones, Mr. Jones.
We've got a thing going on
Do Do
Do Do
Do Do
...

Welcome to the O&B!!!

Don't fret so much fellow Loyalists.
Brandon Jones needs 40 to 50 lbs for sde . He does have a nice burst, keeps his eyes in the backfield so he tracks the ball well and as he does pursues as well. VVg length and ht for the position. Plays hard to the whistle, with vvg sp, st, power, qu and burst. He has the building blocks but is raw, thou he does shed well and needs to retain all those tool once he gains the 40-50 lbs.
He received a 5.6 3* rating so middle of the pack for a 3*. My guess is he will not receive much of a look from scout, rival and espn, and 24/7 so he will remain a 2 * in their eyes.
Not bad all three dl commits are under rated imo I have Black with the same grade and Jackson I flat love the kid he is my next year I am excited to see play kid as was Mikey before last year.
