Hey look - you are right!

What's weird is if you Google "Tony Eason" the Wiki page on the right pops up as the U of I all-time great QB. That lists his son as Jacob. Damn you, Wikipedia!
Yep, shows why you can't always trust an open wiki source for information. :)

Kind of like accepting "insider" predictions on sports message boards from people on their first post (may be an insider, may not be)...

Is it true that we lost out on Jarvis and Marwede? Jarvis to MSU and Marwede to Duke.

New staff didn't really go hard after either.

Why? They are both 2 of the top 10 players in the state and we are not going after them hard? I thought it was a big goal keeping top players in state?

Jarvis has academic issues; Marwede was going big time no matter what. He had offers from virtually everyone. Since he committed to Duke, I'd imagine academics played a huge role.

I hope that's the case because i can't believe we wouldn't do it otherwise.

Pretty much what the poster above said. Tight end is not really a position of need right now, anyways.

If I haven't lost track nobody has verballed since Lovie was hired. I know we have commits. But I would think somebody would be the one to jump first and try to start building the program.

They haven't had a chance to meet him yet. This is one of the biggest decisions these guys will ever make. Even with a coach like Lovie, I'm sure the players at least want to meet the coach they'll be playing for.

It's basically been a dead period since Lovie was hired so maybe the expectations should be nothing until they can actually recruit. Just because his name is Lovie doesn't mean a kid is going to say yes without meeting the coaches his future is on
