Nickerson sent 20 or so kids to a D1 school while coaching at Bishop O'Dowd. He's well respected at BOD, and the state of California.

Yeah, Nickerson is very well known, well liked, and well respected in Cali.

Am I wrong in being a bit surprised that there have not been any commits yet?

We're something like 40 days into the Lovie Era. I know much of that was a quiet period and Spring practice obviously has taken up a lot of time - but I would figure someone would quickly pull the trigger.

How many of those 40 days were spent putting the staff together? That kind of takes away from recruiting.... Why am I not surprised that this kind of comment wasn't posted earlier.

The coaches have not begun recruiting other than face time and visits, got to get the team up to speed, big change when spring ball is over, then they go on the grind

I don't expect much until the June camps. Then I expect about 6-8, then about 10-12 during the football season, then the rest during January visits. I predict we will average 3.45 stars

There were some people on Twitter mildly freaking out just 2-3 days into the open contact period. :tsk:

That there are no commits yet isn't necessarily shocking given the timing and the other prerogatives. That the staff couldn't at least prevent so many of the state's best players from committing elsewhere in the meantime is the bummer.

Verbal commitment and a signed LOI are two different things.... lot of people flip in football

I believe the General consensus is that only Robertson and Marwede were the only 2 in state that the staff wanted that has committed so far
