When you look at the list, you see a bunch of kids unranked. It's a mistake to assume that means they aren't good. Some of the unranked kids have offers from Wisconsin, Michigan, and Georgia. That is a list of visits in June that this program hasn't seen since Zook. Like 217 said, time to close, though!

It would be great to get all 3 of the DL, Gant, Harkless and Pierce. BB also needs LB's and DE's/Edge. Add in a couple of Safeties too.

I’d love a few TEs too. We seen like we have a good foundation at OL, RB and WR. Definitely need some defensive guys

Would love to nab #216 player, but I’m curious as to what you see as the “too many built in advantages”? Obviously, his father being a star at Illinois is one, but not sure I see others.
I think having a rising star as a defensive coordinator and a DB coach who tends to have a great rapport and personality that many young recruits gravitate to are something to be considered. I think there is proof and will continue to be proof that illinois can send players from the defensive backfield to the NFL. A power 5 program that seems to be going in the right direction and early playing time is a great possibility...there are a lot of advantages

Fair enough. I’d actually call those more truths than advantages considering he has offers from 20 schools including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State and Texas A&M. Hopefully he buys in to Illini and wants to be a part. Again, wasn’t saying Illinois doesn’t have its pluses just as you listed, just not sure other schools don’t negate some of those “advantages” as well as have more of their own.

Do we know what position for which he is being recruited? According to 24/7, schools seem to be recruiting him more for WR now than DB. wonder if he has a preference.
