Name checks out
My point was it's nothing new. I don't like it, BB needs to keep hammering away to get the top in-state kids, but it's a tough nut to crack. In the Big Ten alone, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and heck, Minnesota have cleaned our clocks. It's a heavily recruited state with a lot of hotbed areas. Winning games and getting guys to the NFL is always the recruiting pitch and last year proved both can be done here. If we can go back to back, get primetime games, etc...ears perk up. The name, in the case, does check out. I couldn't care less if we're in a guys top 5. BB has earned the respect to always be in consideration and in a top 5. To get elite offensive linemen, you have to prove you can get them drafted. I suspect that recruiting the DB position is going to be significantly easier now.

We might be surprised with the amount of picks we have after this year....agree about BB's success with OL , we will push many to the league...

If we have success this year we'll start to see it for sure I think. Most places still have us at like 4 wins even after we put on a defensive clinic last year.... there's just still some doubt. After decades of futility, it won't go away in a few seasons.

Bielema is the right guy to get the wins to come consistently.

And it should never not piss us up! It’ll take time to change things, but we should never just accept it!
doesn't look like we ever offered the kid. Iowa has another 24 OL commit from IL that we didn't offer either. I'll trust BB on OL evaluation.. if the staff doesn't think those kids are a fit, I totally get not offering. The one gripe I might have would be Will Nolan, ANOTHER OL from IL that Iowa appears to lead for. We've offered, but not until after Iowa did. Maybe we're still building those in-state connections, but for how much BB talks about locking down the state, we tend to offer a lot of IL kids late.

Good points. B.B. is doing a fine job thus far. We are very hungry.

One thing to add, just reading some comments from Iowa fans during the offseason..OL seems to be a relative weakness for this year due to injuries and lack of development. Mentioned an oline coach left a few years ago and hasn’t exactly been the same? Maybe this has trickled into OL evaluation as well? Take it with a grain of salt.

Must be good to join Iowa’s offensive juggernaut. 🤭

i might be wrong, but Iowa has not produced a big number of NFL o linemen in the last 4-5 years have they?
