Two years of eligibility.

I'll take 50 catches for my #1 or #2 TE. (Lists his hometown as London, UK).

Thought he might be too much of a "move" TE for the staff. Might be a situation where (a) you know you need another TE and (b) can't pass up on the talent.

Not much conversation about Trey Petty, decided to compare his P5 offers to the past five prep QB commits:

Trey Petty (2024) - four P5 offers (Georgia Tech, Indiana, West Virginia, & Mississippi State)

Cal Swanson (2023) - None

Donovan Leary (2022) - three P5 offers (Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Boston College)

Samari Collier (2021) - None

MJ Rivers (2018) - one P5 offer (Iowa State)

Cam Thomas (2017) - None*

*Decided to not count Deuce Spann in this list because he has at least one offer (Auburn) that looks to be for him to play a non-QB position out of high school.

much more of a pass catcher than blocker. Usually moved around the slot or outside to create mismatches, and rarely used as an inline blocker or an H back behind the LOS. Others might have more specifics, but I believe that's general explanation.

Well said. For example, Marchese was last year's move TE, while Ford was the in-line TE. Reiman was good enough to be both. Next year's team? Reiman is both (still), Moore and Arkin are your move TEs, Boyer is the in-line? More questions about who the staff trusts to block than catch.

Thanks for posting the link. I don't have 57 minutes to listen. Anything stand out to you?

Petty is second half of the podcast. So 30 min? Talks about how they landed him, recruiting strategy, his level of play. not just surface talk and stating facts. In depth with guest who knows Mississippi high school recruiting. I thought it was the best commitment and recruiting podcast I had listened to in a long time.
