They are going to get a lot of guys in the offseason-they know the importance of next year. Gonna get more d lineman (great get today), o line (Dennis will be a great start), dbs and possibly a safety or wideout.

One more thing-If I had to guess:
Coleman goes to the draft
Love comes back
IW comes back
Reiman comes back
Obv Newton and Randolph gone

Love coming back back would be big. Obviously depth at RB was a big problem with injuries but he was pretty dang good this year. Quietly was 6th in the conference in rushing ypg even while battling his own injuries.

I just noticed that it says Dennis will commit on Jan, 6 2024, does this mean this will be another Elzy situation where he signs with Illinois, but wont announce until later that he is going to Illinois?

Im hoping we can keep Jacas here. I dont know of anyone after him specifically but last year the he had some SEC schools after him in the portal. Heres hoping our FamILLy atmosphere wins the day with most /all our underclassmen that will be stepping into bigger roles and having opportunities to win a starting spot.

Any possibility of Altmyer's former HS teammate coming to Illinois? I can't remember the name but I'm talking about the HS WR that was previously committed to Miss. State.

EDIT: This guy

Getting Dennis before Johnathan Smith starts lurking around might be good idea.

Plus Danny O'Neil decommitted from Colorado and have to be a scared of Lebby getting his grubby Briles family paws on Petty.

Smith had 0 shot at Dennis … He tried to get a visit and Dennis told him to kick rocks …

Know Danny & family well … Barry had us running top 3 before commitment to Colorado … We are good with Petty and sticking with him …

Danny will have tons of options …

Good to see recruiting going into overdrive. Maybe losing to Northwestern was the kick we needed to get moving quickly
