He was 3rd in receiving behind IW and Washington. Still need another receiver to make up for the loss of the other two. IW and Washington combined for around 1,700 yards receiving. Bryant can't do it all by himself.

we have very different opinions on the state of our WR room

there are degrees of set. pursuing Franklin is a no-brainer
Yeah, but that tells me the coaching doesn't feel that comfortable yet. If you have all the confidence in the world in what you have on the roster, you don't make an attempt. Why not go after another RB then or QB? They felt Franklin was that last missing piece IMO.

How much production did we get out of the WR spot beyond IW and Washington? We need an experienced WR to pick up the slack. I wasn't overly impressed with the Spring game at WR. We need more help.
Bryant is proven. Elzy will make leaps this year(remember the excitement of the recruiting victory?) . Beatty will be a factor. Hopefully Witcher and Sanders can be viable weapons. Adding Franklin would be absolutely great! If we don’t get him, the receiving room isn’t as strong, but it’s by no means a position of weakness. .

This. FWLIW, I think Hollins and Dixon will have some moments too

Feel like our real remaining position of need is WR. We need 1 more guy and that 1 guy needs to be a quality guy imo - a Franklin level guy. That might be too much of an ask...because if Franklin is truly not working out, we probably won't be able to get a guy like that...but that's the need imo.

If he tears it up at a place like Washington...dang...that's gonna be a TOUGH watch.

Any idea who are our plan B guys currently at WR?

If the staff had one remaining scholarship available, I would want them to get Meyer (DL) over the remaining targets.

Beaty is a nice player but I wouldn’t count on huge production from him. He is a good program player but lacks elite traits. Elzy has the potential to be an impact player now that he has a year under his belt. Hopefully the game starts to slow down for him. Dixon, Wilcher and Holland all have a lot of potential. Adding Franklins experience and production would be huge. It also gives the younger guys another year before they step into bigger roles

Let’s finish off this cycle with Meyer, Franklin and Francis. I like the potential of Anthony James but if we are only adding 1 more dt it needs to be Meyer. We have to win this year

About a week ago Franklin was a lock. What are the chances now...?

50/50? More than that? Less than that?

It's pretty disappointing if we don't land him or don't find an adequate consolation prize IMO.
