Somehow, seeing the words 'silent verbal' makes me feel worse.

Oh noes... not the dreaded "silent verbal" oxymoron.

LOL, gotta agree ... didn't DJax give a silent verbal and then go on another visit, though? I might be wrong on that. But if Mark told the staff he's decided on Illinois but would appreciate no leaks so he can have a proper announcement, that is understandable, yeah? Sure it happens more than any of us know.

Think about it. Had great visit . Told BU ty for the offer. Going home to talk to parents and coach. Signs Nli at school tomorrow.

Two different types of silent verbals (not saying either of these happened)

1. I am committing to you, but i still want to look around at what other schools have to offer. So basically it means nothing.

2. I am committing to you, can we just keep it silent until my announcement in a couple days.

I'm still waiting for Sherron Collins to announce his silent verbal.

Glad to see I am not the only one still waiting on Sherron Collins!

Lucas misses shots badly sometimes. His percentage will likely go down next year unless he can fix his stroke. Mark Smith has great form and takes more shots. If he took the same amount as Lucas he would be above 40%. I do not have a preference for either player, but using their shooting percentage is not the best way to evaluate them.

So hard numbers from full seasons worth of data are not what we should use to evaluate them AND we should assume that a player with year of experience to get adjusted to the speed of the game and stronger mentally and physically will shoot a worse percentage? Am I taking crazy pills?

No, but maybe you don't understand statistics. TJL does not shoot very much and thus has a very small sample size. The lack of lift on his shot and his mechanics indicate to me that he is not as good of a shooter as his 3 pt% indicates and he will regress to the mean this year.

I did note that if he is able to fix his mechanics (which can come with added strength) that I would not be surprised if he maintains this percentage.

I think that's about the only way to really compare players, but you also have to look at who they play, who they play with and so on. Its like comparing Lucas to Moore if you look at their stats hard to say Moore is in any way an upgrade.

oh boy. my emotions are running.

and Sherron Collins LOLOLOL

Even if Mark Smith turns out to be worst player in nation ever. This would still be a massive statement to the country, and that's why I am even more nervous.
