During the month of July Lucas showed an ability to really pass the basketball as well as a good feel for the game and an improved jump shot. While only about 6-feet tall, Lucas has the ability to defend because he gives effort on that end of the floor, and also he is a smart player who understands how to take an offensive player out of what he likes to do well.
Now as a senior Lucas is taking his game to even another level, especially when it comes to scoring. Lucas is nearly averaging a double-double with 20 points and 10 assists per game. On the offensive end Lucas has appeared to be more assertive and his shot continues to get better from where it was.

Just wondering if you had heard something about us recruiting him? Just asking as I haven't seen our name mentioned with him at all.
No, I have not heard anything at this point. Most analysts think Memphis or Iowa State, but I personally think Marquette will be the favorite. Close-knit family. If I were Illinois, I would try to get involved. Raw, not an immediate impact player, he has grown a lot since last year but will be a SF. Unless you can get an immediate impact C like Thorne (an unlikely scenario IMO), I'd rather recruit someone like him and count him towards the 2017 class (as far as expectations). Very high ceiling, probably the kind of player who will make huge improvements and get drafted after his junior year.

No idea where we stand. But I find posts that pretend to understand Froling's thought process to be laughable. We'll know soon enough.

I have no inside info, but this would be my guess too. He stated that going to school with his sisters isn't his primary goal. As others have stated, the sanctions at SMU may be enough to turn him away from there. Arizona is a perennial top 25 team, it's a great campus with great weather. I'd love to be surprised and have him pick UI, but I'm thinking that's doubtful. Hope I'm wrong!

OK, time to read emoji tea leaves. I see a Wildcat(Arizona), a Buffalo(Colorado), a Mustang (SMU) and three hands holding three pens which must, by a process of elimination, be us.
Does he list us three times because he likes us three times more than the than the other choices? Or does he list us fourth, fifth and sixth to show that he'd put us lower than fourth out of four if there was any way he could do so?
The fact that he is not announcing already suggests someone or something may still be in play. Gotta imagine a lot of long distance calls are being made today.
