TJL was nominated to the McDonald's AA game. You can check his instagram for a copy of the nomination. @sauce_king414

He might not be selected, but he was nominated.

Did I miss the loyalty after dark where we discussed his twitter handle? How have we not been calling him Sauce King this entire time? All Hail Sauce King!!!

I saw that and it is clearly an Arizona oriented account. That said, it is likely correct. SMU has the sisters and Zona has the weather, recent success and reputation and NBA alums.

Muck Farizona...?

The key word on Froling is versatility. A common Groce theme.

Yes. Froling is clearly a very good player. His upside appears to be through the roof.

I don't buy this report that he's a heavy AZ lean. That guy is an AZ homer.

The first minute of watching Evans I knew he would of been the better selection at PG than Brunson or any other guard we have recruited in the Groce era. The best comparison I can come up with is Chris Paul. Evans is so fluid and a true point guard with passing, dribbling, penetrating, and shooting skills.

I watched the first 10 minutes of the game and was blown away at how good and grounded Evans game is. No knock against Brunson, but Evans has the atleticism and game to play pro ball, possibly even start for a team. He will be all NCAA next year and possibly gone after two seasons.

Once again, no knock against Demetrius Jackson, Q Snyder, Brunson, Glynn Watson; Evans is better and I would of said this even if he had scored 15 points in yesterdays game. His superior game is evident immediately.

To add Evans and his athleticism/speed with Nunn with of made a tremendous backcourt. Add those two to Hill, Thorn, and Finke (or Black, or Paul) and I believe we are in the top 10-15 range. Possibly higher.

So when will he transfer to Illinois?

I'm starting to think Tyler Cook PF from Chaminade HS (St. Louis) is overrated. He is considered a top 60 recruit and headed to Iowa next year. All his highlight videos are just of him dunking and his stats are poor for a top 60 recruit. Averaging 10.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 2.07 Assists PG, 0.73 Steals PG and only 0.27 Blocks PG. I know he has to share the ball with Tatum but I was expecting a lot better given his ranking. Glad Illinois didnt get him.

Have you ever watched him in person? He is like Leron only a little more skilled most likely. Pretty similar players though. Similarly ranked as well. High motor, good rebounder, aggressive, generally what you might call a pitbull. If he had more range he would be much higher in the rankings. I mean Cliff became a top 10 recruit by dunking a lot so Cook's rating is that high.

Yeah...Iowa really seems like they don't know what they're doing lately.

I watched the game Saturday night against Althoff and Cook was not impressive at all. That being said, it was just one game.

This was a manufactured narrative created here.

I understand that this was a narrative that many people discussed, though not all agreed was the case. Though, I'm curious what part of the narrative you feel is erroneous. Are you simply pointing out that it's speculative whether Evans' decision was influenced by our renewed interest in Brunson? Or do you know for certain that this isn't how it played out?

I want to see what they look like next year with the top 2 pgs on the roster leaving. I know Mike Gesell has his flaws, but he has ran the system how Fran wants it run for 4 years. I want to see how that team looks next year with zero experience at pg.

I didn't think Clemmons was a senior?

It's going to be a whole lot of Jok for them next year. I feel like Dom Uhl is their only young guy who gets tic, and I'm pretty meh on him. Solid athlete, good rebounder who plays hard, but I don't see him remotely capable of replacing the seniors production. Fran should have solid classes coming in the next couple of years, but losing two pg's, a center even if people don't understand his worth, and first team all conference pick Jared Uthoff should have them taking a step back next year.
