Tim Finke not starting for Meanstreets. First time that's happened all spring. (Could be injured but he's dressed and sitting next to Slaughter on the bench.)
Derek Piper‏ @DPiperScout 5m5 minutes ago
And for the nightcap.. #Illini HC Brad Underwood & Chin Coleman are back over at Peach Jam to see Tim Finke.

Right guys, he averages 6/5 for the EYBL season. Has one good game against a team in the Invitational (read - teams not good enough for Peach Jam) and you start cutting THT.

CIA Bounce up 18-15 early. Hellems, Liddell, Bradeikas and Shittu scoring all the points so far.

I mean part of the deal is they hype their players and help get them offers. All I'm saying is that it's not all sour grapes, it's part of their job.
They've been doing stuff like this constantly since Talen left. I realize their job is to hype their players and I have no problem with that at all. I actually like the Irvins as a rule. But if you've read their twitter feed since THT left, they've been digging at him non stop. Doubt it bothers him and at first I just found it funny. But after a while, just stop, Mike Irvin. You look petty.

Looked at the fire feed and didn't see anything about him. What tweets are you referring to?

This class is stacked at PG and SF which are two of our biggest needs and one of the best reasons we will have a shot at some top talent. C is going to be a much harder get and it's obvious why we seem to be trying to get on some of the more "diamond in the rough" type players.

They never mention him by name but they've put about 3 of their players as 2nd best in the state over the last month. The day he quit (which nobody knew about) they posted "EYBL isn't for everybody" "Gotta be tough to play EYBL", which didn't make any sense until you found out later what happened that day. But Tamell Pearson, Demarius Jacobs and Xavier Pinson are not even close to being 2nd best players in their class -- but they've been hyping all of them as such, even though when THT was on the Fire, there was no doubt in their mind he was number 2 after Ayo.
They of course aren't going to go after him by name, but I kind of figured that's what they were doing with some of their tweets and after hearing from several people -- personal friends and mods on other boards how PO'd they were that he left the Fire, it's pretty easy to spot the tweets that are directed at him. In their mind, you do not leave the Fire and if you do leave, you do not go to an Adidas team. They loathe Adidas.
It's not a big deal, pretty minor actually, but just seems kind of childish to me. I doubt Nick or Lance are involved, but Mike is the coach and CEO of the Fire and it's just the kind of thing he'd do. He's famous for his temper.
Have also heard there are some big transfers coming from Morgan Park and at least one coming in (source:MOB and Henricksen) so it might just be overall frustration in the Irvin camp. And with MOB saying THT and Ayo won't be playing together, when for months that was the plan for Illinois to get both, I think THT finally got sick of the jabs and told someone (Robert Smith perhaps since he and MOB are really close) 'I ain't playing with Ayo'.
If nothing else it should make the Morgan Park-Simeon game pretty interesting this year. Too bad with the new conference set up for the CPL, they only play once in the regular season.
Anyway, this is how I read the situation based on what I've heard and read. Could be wrong about some of it, but I don't think so in this case. It can get pretty bitter/intense in Chicago when it comes to basketball.

Shaq just entered the gym (his son Shareef, Bol Bol and Cal Supreme play the next game on this court) and damn, is that guy enormous. I know he looked big even on a court with other big guys, but when he's around coaches and regular folk, looks like a giant.
BBE up by 6 with 1 minute to go.

Regarding THT, he switched from a nike to adidas team. Isn't nw adidas if I recall correctly?

BBE wins 91-80, are 4-0 in pool play and are first team to clinch a spot in Peach Jam finals play. Another big game for Hellems. Had around 30 points again. He should be a hot commodity after this weekend. Loads of coaches here for an early morning game. Saw K, Boeheim, Frank Martin, Beilein and several others and the announcer was going on that this might be the most head coaches at one game he saw all week.

I saw him at the Highland Shootout this year. He lit it up all night long from all over the court. Glad to see him getting his recognition. He could turn out to be a serious shooter at the college level.
