On Friday staff is going to get a good look see at Griffin against some B1G players in open gym. BTW, his AAU coach is an Illini grad '05 and staunch O&B supporter. If Griffin shows well, this could be our first '018 commit.

I've been to dozens of these open gyms over the years. If the coaches want the kid, the players go out of their way to make the kid look good.

You mean they DON'T try to utterly demoralize them by siccing the best players on them and trying to stuff every attempted shot? WEAK. 😉😁

Griffin, Ayo, Conditt/Castelton (either) and Nolley would be a GREAT class...moving along to 2019....?

Excited the staff is getting Griffin on campus this week. Kid had a huge summer. Looks like he has some versatility to his game. His shot reminds me of Kareem Rush from mizzou. I like his size, looks like he can get buckets at the rim. I would be happy if we landed him!

Rumors from a couple months ago were that Illini cooled on Moore because it was clear via Irvins that he and Ayo weren't going to the same place. Not sure why that would change now.

I do recall that but those rumors seemed to be from the same cloth as those claiming Ayo and THT don't want to play together in college. I'm not sure how reliable either are.

USC has offered five star 2018 Mac Irvin guard Ayo Dosunmu

Here we go...now from west coast...and many retweets:(

Because they all know where he's going.

You would think with all the interest BU has given him, it`s obvious that he wants him here. As I have said before, love to have him commit early, would make it a lot clearer on where we need to focus next , still can`t see it happening soon.:illinois:

Ayo does not seem to have the offer list that you would imagine for a top 30 kid... because of his shooting form?

Most of the time the lack of offers mean coaches think the player is already set to a certain school. But Andy Enfield doesn't give a you know what, that guy is for real. Plus a Kansas offer and Kentucky interest...look, never put stock into offers. It honestly doesn't matter

Griffin has emerged as the top dog for the 4th scholly.

Hearing Ayo, Conditt, Pearson, and Griffin.

First domino to drop soon...:shield:

With Greg not looking at raw as some expected and a frame to add some size this would be a a really nice group.

I think Pearson has the lowest floor but a decent ceiling.

I'd be surprised. Staff probably thinks Pearson can develop into a contributor but i'd be surprised if he had an offer if he wasn't Ayo's close friend and teammate.

Right. I mean, someone has to be on the end of the bench. Just how it goes. If he ends up a solid contributor then that's just money in the bag.

Just want to point out we only have 3 schollies for 2018. I know we can over sign, but still only 3.

Without doing some research, I can't think of the last year where the team didnt have attrition. Number of scholarships is not an issue. It never is.

Sometimes it is a medical redshirt , and I'd say a larger % is that type of thing.:(
