I like drinking the kool aid as much as anyone, but some of this talk reminds me of the discussion during Groce’s early recruiting where posters were debating how many 5 stars we would have on the team in a couple years. Remember money talks and until the signature is on the dotted line it doesn’t really count.

Burnett looks good. A certain big man as well is looking better and better everyday and I think we are emerging as a favorite. Also TyTy won't be easy. Going to have some blue bloods coming as well, but I like our chances there as well.
Could end up with a top 5-10 recruiting class after the next couple of months

I'm really feeling good about Boakye, no inside info but how can you not see the seasons we've had from Leron Black, Giorgi, and Kofi under this staff and not want to come play here....?

When evaluating high school guard talent, look for the players that make every move seem effortless. See Ayo. Compare Ayo senior year HS to Adam Miller senior year HS. Ayo was effortless, and Adam Miller was highly skilled, but not effortless -- DJ Steward was effortless, smooth. Mark Smith was an example of an effective HS player, but he was not a clearly fluid, effortless athlete. Podz is very Mark Smith-ish. Or a Malcolm Hill playing against junior high competition. Podz doesn't move at a high D1 level. I think he is a bust, frankly. The comparison to Tyler Herro is not justified. We should not underestimate how critical is it to find Ayo-like players to maintain our momentum. Curbelo fits that description, thankfully.
Watch Alan Griffins tape. Excellent shooter but not smooth at all. His hands were absolutely terrible but you could see the talent was there

So here’s a question. Burnett supposedly decommitted from Texas Tech because he was recruited over. For that reason, I’ve heard others say there’s no way we get both Burnett and Washington. BUT, there was also talk that we were recruiting Hardy who has been working out with Burnett, and Burnett was supposedly recruiting him too. If Burnett is willing to play with Hardy, why wouldn’t he play with Washington? Is it because it would mean 3 guards who see themselves as ball handlers? Or is the Burnett recruiting Hardy talk just that? Of course, none of this takes into account if Washington wants to share time with Burnett. When Washington committed to Creighton, there was speculation that one of the deciding factors was a clearer path to playing time.

It's the best case scenario for us tbh, first come first serve.

Difference being Mark Smith wanted to be a ball-handler and thought he was better than he was, not every player we get is going to be an elite athlete. Just like how not every player is going to make an impact freshman year. Consensus among all recruiting services is he will end up in the mid 70s range. I agree the Tyler Herro comparisons are over the top, but to compare him to Mark Smith is a stretch.
