True, but the Kansas basketball program is also under investigation for serious recruiting violations. IIRC, the NCAA is investigating two Level I violations relating to benefits given to recruits by an Adidas exec. If those are found to be true, Self could be gone, and it might be a few years before they're allowed to play in the NCAAT. Hopefully, whoever is advising these recruits puts the but in their ears that everything could change over the summer.
Edit: Make that five Level I infractions, and a separate investigation of Bill Self by the FBI. If those charges pan out, KU could get the equivalent of the death penalty that was leveled against SMU football back in the 80s. If I were advising a five-star recruit, I'd have them steer clear until the dust settles. Now that the transfer portal has introduced the concept of free agency to college basketball, they could always transfer there if they wanted to.
