I don't think they are either. BUT, what's true today has turned out to be false tomorrow more times then I care to remember on here. That aside, you couldn't really ask for 2 more solid posters to be posting something like that, so there's that. :thumb:

Might you even say... recruiting is fluid?

I think the fact that Mark Smith has now alluded to JT conversations twice (first, on the day of his commitment, and now at his Mr. Basketball ceremony) means there is at least a hint of "smoke" to our successful recruitment of JT.

True, but that could mean anything. Assuming we still are in it, gotta be happy about that. We have a lot more upside with an actual center.

Hearing Depaul has now entered the race for Tilmon, and he is intrigued.

Have heard the same thing, but that things would possibly change if KY or Duke decides to offer.

And I've heard we stand a good chance of snagging Bamba to round out our 2017 class. Only caveat is that all the other schools on him need to rescind their offers. Then, we're golden. :thumb:

yeah the same coach that he didn't want to play for, and went back home instead

Why do you say he didn't want to play for him?

Tilmon himself said he moved back to be closer to his mom

Is this the longest recruiting cycle we've ever had for a class? Seems like it could easily go another month or two before we know what the 2017-18 roster looks like.

Gonna be a long off-season. Always is.

I'm cool with that. And here's why.

If he's entertaining new entrants to the race, it tells me he's not the lock to Mizzou that some have suggested.

I've already made my peace with him not coming to Illinois. I haven't fully made my peace with him going to Mizzou, though. If he's flirting with DePaul, then clearly he's not sold on Mizzou.

I was thinking the same thing. On the bright side only about 6 mos or so from the time a guy like Smith commits and you get to see him in uniform for the Illini.
