Well, 2 reports have him at 6'6" 180 and one at 6'7" 186, so he either is growing or shrinking. Based on his age, I would say growing.


Also, for those who care, ESPN has him at 82****, rivals does not have him rated.

Well, if he commits to any other school than Illinois it is because his growth plates are closed.

What's this guys story/background and who else has offered? Can he qualify? Love the swagger and athleticism.

Several FL schools (FGCU, etc.) Kansas St., GA and Rutgers. One would think there would be a chance, based on the competition. Though we have no idea what is important to him. We are farther away than all but KState.

As expected, our staff has found some viable candidates for our remaining rides. There will be more, including possibly a Euro or two. A good season will be an excellent showcase for these kids and will help make our case more compelling.

I might actually like the west coast baller/leaper with the nice shot more. But this kid projects well, add some weight and improve skills (shooting, dribbling, passing, etc...).


Possibly be the kid everyone ask, "Why did the blue chip schools pass on him".

Less concerned about his jump shot than what makes a young athlete successful in the college game (attitude, academics, maturity, sportsmanship). The coaches can fix shot and add weight on him but hard to fix the stuff between the ears.

TC - just curious. What’s your point? That we’re scraping bottom of barrel? That Underwood is maybe finding diamonds in the rough? It doesn’t seem like you’re necessarily against recruiting these lower rated guys, are you? Just warning the board to keep wild optimism for these guys in check because they’re low ranked? Honestly not sure.

Does the kid have problems in those areas? Do you know something we don't?

As it seems a wing and big still on wish list, waiting till spring still looking like best bet. Make some offers, play our games to show our product, let Ayo do his thing, mix with a little recruitment magic, see what we can harvest. Yes, Mike, input would be great.;):illinois:
